There we have it. It matters not what the union or your coworkers are doing; you are in it for yourself and nobody else, will do what is best for you, without regard for the next guy... typical Gen Y Why not add to your posts, that the senior guys should retire and get out of "your" seat.

It was a decent post, if it were true. The last several years that statement was not true. That would be consistant at most airlines operating regional equipment as well.

If they demanded a work action it would be on legal grounds, therefore to me it would not be a sin as it wasn't illegal. If we ever fly together we can continue this conversation then, but here I am through talking about it. I guess I just look at life a little different than you, neither way is wrong, just another viewpoint. Everybody else, please continue your posts and ignore the last few back and forths between Mason and me. Sorry for the insanely long posts.

I am assuming you would disagree since there were many pilots hired with low time (500TT or less) in the recent years? We can agree to disagree, but as long as this attitude of "You need to pay your dues" continues then the senior pilots will continue to eat their young, negotiate ridiculously low 1st yr payscales, crappy reserve QOL for jr pilots, etc etc. Before you respond about how nobody is forcing a pilot to get hired for $21/hr and put up with the work rules please come up with something new because that is a weak, old, tired argument.

More importantly than hours in the logbook is attitude(yes I said attitude is more important that 1500TT opposed to 500TT). I think most CAs would agree they would rather fly with a low time pilot who is eager to learn and professional attitude compared to a 5000TT, bitter, know-it-all FO.

there are some people who were even on reserve that never really had it that bad...right place at the right time...granted they were on reserve but they sat at home everyday...never had the crash pad, etc.

It doesn't matter how many hours you have at this point. If you have the job title you should be treated decently.

Haha, ironically yesterday on my last turn the FA said that I was an angry little boy and that Eagle had corrupted me. I told that at Eagle if you walk around with a smile on your face there will be someone that'll try to take it away just because they don't think you deserve to smile. I told her I found ways to be happy without being outright about it so that I didn't have to deal with everyone elses crap.

Self-imposed misery? Absolutely not. Learning to laugh at everyone else without as much as cracking a smile.

First positive step to this thread becoming moot. Keep praying
Only the top three got phone calls. I talked to 72,71 and 70 and none have gotten phone calls or notice of no furlough.

Yes, but as long as people keep comming why should they change.

attitide is the job of the HR and background people to weed out. The purpose of minimum total time has directly to do with experience level, as has been long established by the insurance industry.

That would be a fair statement; however the reality is, and I'm sure you'll learn this when you move to the left seat... there are far more know-it-all's in the last 3 years then in the previous 10... and they're ticked off about the older guys still being at regionals, such as Eagle, and taking up "their" seat.

You are also looking at it solely from one viewpoint. As it is, I'm much more interested in not having to watch every single move the other pilot is making than if he/she is in a good mood. Granted, a good personality is important and makes the day go by easier, but you can not underestimate how much having a competent pilot that doesn't need to be watched every second of the day also makes the day more pleasurable. It is very tiring/draining to have to babysit each and every single minute of the day.

Other than that, and I agree with ya
