Rah 190's Confirmed For Midwest
#41
Sounds like your predecessors, the 300 who were there, threw you and all of us under the bus... but, they are your pilot group, so the tag line still fits. Sorry for the other 1700 who have to live with it, and your going to say none of the other 1700 who came after them every saw that section in the contract, and during none of the amendment rounds it was never addressed.... whose fault is that?
Stop making excuses, and just stand up and say hey, we messed up. You know, everybody makes mistakes. The sign of an adult is being to admit a mistake, take resposnibility, and move on to correct it as best as they are able.... all I ever hear from RAH guys is... is isn't my fault.... blah blah blah... blame management.....

Nobody bids the airplane. Then if he "forces" you into it, fail your checkrides until your back in your current equipment.
There, that was easy.

No. I just took the first job that was offered. And when I got hired, the mins weren't so low. When I got hired, I didn't know much about the contract with RAH. But I chose this career and was tired of flight instruction. Most people go to the regionals to build time and move on to a major. Which is my goal. I want nothing to do with a 190 until I'm at a major. What choice do I have xtreme. Like I said before. Would you quit your job on principal?
So if midwest does strike, will RAH pilots still fly it? Anybody who touches that blue paint job then will be on the scab list.

we dont need new check rides. its a common type certificate just like the erj-135/140/145 is all one type. every one at RW is already certified to fly this airplane...the benifits of common type ratings.

Years ago no even imagined Ejets at the regional level so I think blaming the original 300 pilots is a bit extreme. Bottom line is Republic just became an even bigger part of the problem. Nobody is going to refuse fly these aircraft. They are supposed to quit? and go where? the unemployment line, won't happen. Scream about ALPA all you want, their track record does not inspire much confidence.

Scumbags... That is as scabby as it gets. This makes Go jets look like angels. Flying mainline routes in mainline size planes for less then subpar regional pay. Unbelievable. So it begins... Anybody who accepts this flying is a SCAB.
Here is the end of our careers, our dreams of ever making it to a major, and making a decent living. Cheers!

You do not know what a scab is apparently. If you did, you would not use that term here. Where are pilots crossing picket lines? Nowhere that I know of. Your telling me that if your airline brought that aircraft on the property you would walk? I bet your going to say yes but your a liar if you do. It is mainline carriers that are selling out on scope. The regional partner simply has to fly what they are given.
For the record, I am not an RAH pilot. I am not happy with this turn of events. But RAH pilots are not scabs.

Coming from someone on the inside...
I just heard about this about an hour ago, and have talked to a few other FO friends here on the 170, and every single person I have talked to feels like ****. The agreement only includes 2 airplanes as of now, but its a bad precedent to set....
When it comes down to it, we must admit we are EMPLOYEES and not OWNERS and STOCKHOLDERS. In a capitalist system, companies are run for the benefit of the equity holders. All the talk on here of us "stopping" them from getting these stupid 190's is completely unrealistic and egotistical. HOWEVER, the one thing we have control over is demanding the compensation commensurate with an aircraft of that size. Our last contract negotiations took place at a time when the largest aircraft we flew was a E145, and our FO payscale was slightly above industry average for that type. Times have changed, and we are obviously no longer being paid a fair amount for an aircraft of that size or weight. We are in negotiations now, and I guarantee you we will be fighting for just pay! JetBlue pays $55/hr on 3rd year pay, and Airways pays $46. Right now our third year pay is at $35/hr....unacceptable! This WILL change in the next contract, b/c if it doesnt, every FO I know will vote no...
The way to stop the outsourcing of mainline jobs with these "ERJ"s is to remove the cost-savings incentive to do so, thats it folks.

Definitely not, especially in this economy, but I heard that one before. I believe that is the classic case of SJS. Sounds like you ARE saying you messed up by going there.

I know that we would never fly struck work. I know that. From everyone I talked to. We would love for Midwest pilots to strike!!!! Why hasn't that happend. And I don't regret coming here. I would like to make RAH a better place before I leave by doing my part in the new contract. Everyone here wants a better contract. The POS lawyer that negotiated the last one was just owsted by the IBT. We are on the road to making things better here. So where do you work? Did you ever fly for a regional or just get hired by a mainline carrier from the street?
