I think that would be why its enclosed in a fire proof titanium box with two fire bottles...........

My point is that just like it was wrong to completely flame the crew for what happened, it is completely wrong to completely flame Mesaba for what happened. It has been clear from the moment the story broke, there is lots of information and pieces of the puzzle missing. I listened to what the startrib has available and it doesn't make Mesaba look as bad as the DOT report. Obviously there is something missing.

For all the XJet folks to now do to the RST ground staff what many did to your fellow pilots is hypocritical. And Larry's public comment slamming Delta Connection was immature and unprofessional.

Again... there is lots of opportunity for many parties involved to share the blame. This includes the crew, XJet, Mesaba, DL/NW, the airport and TSA.

We'd at least HOPE that's the case, but I can assure, and probably with about 99.% accuracy, that this WILL happen AGAIN and AGAIN. We keep saying hearing that the problem will be fixed, but it always rears its ugly head again and again. Sad thing is though, is that we're really not learning anything from this other than that it'll make the news for a few days, and then it's all forgotten.................until it happens again. Mark my words, it won't be long either................

I'm with FFB and Airsupport...serious lack of PIC action after a considerable delay. After several hours, it's time for Mesaba, DAL, Dispatch, et al to pound sand.

Whatever it took. I wasn't there so I couldn't tell you. Was there a jetbridge, were there stairs nearby, was there something else on the ramp that I could use to get people off the plane. Even if I had to get one of the handicap lifts they use and take people off 1 at a time then thats what would happen. I am not certified or trained in using a jetbridge, but by God if I had one available I would have had the F.O. marshal me in and used it myself to alleviate the emergency situation that was brewing on the plane. All I am saying is that I would have done the dance with dispatch and atc and the rampers for a few hours. But there comes a time when you have to stop playing nice and get people moving or do it yourself.

I just can't believe neither the FO or captain got off the airplane to talk to someone face to face??? Were they're making OT? Airstairs or not; a crew member could've gotten off the airplane! How about calling the airport manager?

On another note, why was it Mesaba's responsibility to handle CoEx? Is there an agreement between the two parties for diversions like this?

Pretty much describes this industry to a "T."

Secretary LaHood, it's not just the PASSENGERS who are angry and frustrated.
