See, its comments like that, that put your credibility in question. Where have I said I want all the Midwest pilots to disappear? I've been nothing but supportive on here and I've been plenty vocal on the Republic side with voicing my opinion about the Midwest pilots and the deal they are being dealt.

I advocate for nothing but a fair deal for Midwest. I am personally not standing in your way. You have the IBT to thank for that.

Everyone that I've talked to, every post that I've seen, every word that I've heard - is that the Republic pilots want nothing but the best for you Midwest folks. Nobody here wants you on the street or being locked out. But think about this - the Republic pilots are being locked out by the Teamsters! We weren't even told what took place at the first integration meeting!

Everyone likes to think that our pilot group is a bunch of ipod wearin, backpack totin kids, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. This group has especially changed over the last two years when the music stopped and we all had to take a seat. It got very real when we furloughed. When the company fired two pilots over a hotel employee accusation and the union didn't stop it - it got real. It got real when the company blatantly violates the CBA every-friggin-day and there is no recourse.

The days of the IBT are limited. Mark my words. When the Republic pilots stand up and get rid of the IBT, that will be the sign you all are looking for that we are serious about this industry and about being a respected company.

I was in the military for 4 years, instructed for a year then flew the 1900 at Colgan for a year and a half before coming to Republic. I was one of only a few guys interviewing at Republic that had prior 121 and turbine time. Most of the guys were CFI's.

Republic pilots have fun working together too. Maybe we can all have fun working together, but some things gotta happen first. Gotta drop the IBT, get united under one umbrella. Everyone will need to bend over and take one for the team during integration. I'm a junior RW pilot, so either way I'm taking one for the team. I say just let it go straight to an arbitrator, because everyone's idea of fair will be different.

We have the opportunity to be a very strong workforce for a very strong company. Look at the economy and how bad its been the last few years....then look at Republic and see how strong they've been the last few years. My father inlaw (business owner) always said - that when a company is strong when the economy is weak, they are a powerhouse when the economy is strong.

The only thing standing between a great Republic company is a divided group of pilots and a CBA.

80 - you're (hopefully) finally starting to get it. Take your frustrations and direct them towards this goal. This is something we ALL can agree on.

If so many are against the IBT, what is being done to hold their feet to the fire or oust them? When I was there it was a bunch of pilots afraid of their own shadow. Most were extremely nice but spineless to stand up to anyone.

things havent changed. too many pilots happy to be on with a company that, despite being abused by mgmt, support the place because they think theyve made it to a major. yes you have a vocal minority on here that want change, and many more feel the same on company message boards. its the unvocal majority who are way too content with the status quo and are unwilling to rock the boat. hopefully with the addition of these senior pilot groups will give the anti-mgmt abuse types a majority.

A lot has changed with the IBT since the ousting of Gene. Just pick up a magazine and look at the grievances.

A few less grievances don't hold the water with me. A change is needed, but I think it would be foolish to attempt a change until the integration is complete. They will be ousted, need to be ousted. Not a big fan of ALPA, but would definitely consider going the route of FAPA or something similar.

1. To the YX guys, I hope that we can get you back flying again soon, and hopefully in Airbuses. I lost a job in a bankruptcy, and I know how much that sucks. I suspect that the pilots who were furloughed as of June 08 from YX will be pretty much out of luck, but hopefully we can at least help out the ones who were still working at that point.

2. To those who are concerned about being perceived as a "scab" in a job interview - unless you went to work at an airline that was clearly getting around scope (Go or Freedom), the threats that you see on here about not getting hired are empty. I worked at a commuter airline that had the "scab" label tossed at it for non-scab flying, and that didn't stop me getting hired at UA, one of the most anti-scab airlines out there (not that it means anything now).

Good luck to all - I think the ride will still be pretty rough for another year or two.

I agree but there's no way these guys aren't overloaded with all the things going on here. Outside of the grievances I haven't seen any large items for them to fight over lately. We'll just have to see how well they pull through with the 190 payscale issue.

Not a huge fan of ALPA either but an independent union doesn't really have a threat unless the pilot numbers are 5000+. Just don't have the revenue to generate a major contingency fund for a strike. The two benefits of ALPA are the best aeromedical doctors in the world and their huge war chest. It would take at least a 1.5% assessment for a couple years to bring the fund up enough to be a threat to management.

How is it any worse than the IBT. Maybe Im missing something but I don't think that they have any sort of strike fund or aeromedical staff lined up either.
