What is ALPA doing to secure your "legal" rights?

The "legal" fact is that the RAH teamsters EXCO has a DFR responsiblity to the RAH pilots....ALPA has a DFR responsibility to you.

I believe your beef should be with ALPA....

It's not a hell of a lot more money than on furlough. It was exactly RAH rates not slightly higher.
So instead of operating your own (smaller) aircraft for the less pay, you'd rather fly the same aircraft for the same pay over here with a chance of you having a diluted seniority number....just to prove a point?

How's that working out for ya?

Your stupid CEO should never have been allowed to do what he did, and I wish your scope would have been tighter to prevent it. Still can't wait to have you guys over here. Just be patient...the lists will be merged sooner than later and we'll have everyone back to work.

I disagree.

Republic pilots can be know for being FAIR in this deal or as Delaying/ Blocking/ Undermining the rights of another pilot union.

What do you call a union member that undermines another union for personal gain?

You are building a reputation and it's not for being FAIR. It starts with an S.

You didn't answer my question...What is ALPA doing to protect your "legal" rights...What "legal" obligation does the RAH EXCO have to you? You are the one that brought up the "legal" point...

That depends...You can call them "ALPA member" or "APA member" or even "Teamster member"....Were you this upset over the TWA pilots getting stapled to the bottom of the APA list? How about the 20 year fence the NWA pilots put around the Republic pilots? How about what Mesa did to WestAir? We could go on and on.....

I'm not with RAH...Just trying to make a point about ALPA and the other unions and how we don't really care until it is our own Ox that gets gored....By then, it is usually too late...

I my opinion, ALPAs legal department is the reason Midwest pilots had no scope protection. We paid like 8 million to ALPA to management our labor contract with Midwest. The most important part was to write a Fair and Binding labor contract.

Failed, the Midwest contract has weak language and major holes.

ALPA seems to only care about the legacy carriers. ALPA is still supporting the Midwest pilots in this integration issue, but on the other hand they are legally required to back us.

After reading the Republic contract, I have to say I thought that Teamsters maybe the better labor union. Add the deaf ear paid to Midwest pilots with integration rights. Maybe a in house union would be best.

Who is running the show at Republic? Teamster National, EXCO, Legal staff

I agree with you. One must also think that the Teamsters are worried about losing this revenue source. With what seems many RAH pilots unhappy with them and if they come across as screwing the F9, YX and Lynx pilots there won't be many fans from that group. What is happening is the Teamsters are doing whatever they can to heighten their chances of representing this abortion in the end, not what is in the best interest of any pilot.

It would not be hard to drum up support for an in house union once this mess is slopped together. IBT sucks, and everyone knows it - I can think of no one at RAH who wouldn't be glad to dump them. With in-house representation, BB and Co. might actually begin to take labor relations half-seriously, as they obviously take nothing seriously now.

Less pay? The pay is abhorred. What would the career gain by Midwest pilots flying those aircraft for those rates? It would have screwed your chance of getting better rates. BB would have also just shipped all the aircraft over to flying under this new cheaper ALPA contract. Thus in the end the Midwest pilots protected RAH pilots jobs by saying no.

You can delay things, but in the end it will only divided the final pilot group and help BB. Midwest pilots will have to be given there jobs in the end.

The best Republic will get is relative position integration and furloughed Republic pilots are not going to be raised up the seniority list.
Agreed. I would bet on YX pilots being in class before 2010.

I'll take that bet... I have a crisp Benjamin Franklin right here that says no way will a midwest guy see the inside of class room before Feb. of next year. Anyone want to go less than that? PM me. I'd be happy to take your money. God knows I need it.
