hey i have a question that actually relates to the thread topic... my app got rejected and it says "not being considered" as my app status. however, in the rejection email it said to continue to update your app online. I've been trying but it no longer lets me upload a resume and a few of the other functions on the online app won't come up anymore. i've tried a hundred times, multiple web browsers and even emailed someone in HR. they responded by saying, "try again". should i take this as a hint to go away? or should i try emailing my updated resume directly to HR? i'm not giving up just cause of some stupid website. thanks for any suggestions.

Find somone to walk in your resume, that is pretty much the only way to get noticed and your best chance of getting an interview! This doesn't apply just to AWAC, but every company hiring right now. It's though! Very few jobs and tons of pilots. Good Luck!

As of now it is, but the last 3 or 4 vacancy posts have had no backfill for RDU. So here I am sitting reserve still when I could be holding a line at any other base. It's still beats commuting though, and I hope this base stays open.

Who said I don't like it here. I could have said the same thing to the guy who knows everything. I actually do like it here. I enjoy the seniority that I've earned and regardless of the concessions, we still enjoy one of the best contracts in the industry. As far as me leaving...I'll leave when time and tide dictate it if and when it dictates it. As far as you upgrading quickly, that's half the problem with the industry today. Everyone thinks they deserve an upgrade quickly. Since when has this become the norm? If I would have sat as an FO for 10 years, well that's the way it goes. You'll upgrade when you upgrade. End of story. There is a big difference between when you think you should upgrade and when the industry is ready to upgrade addtional people. It's all about timing, not what you think you are entitled to.

Sorry, but it's the way it is.

Thats easy for you to say as a mid seniority Captain....most of us FO's myself included came here for 2 reasons.....great contract and an upgrade in 2 years or less....granted theres not much we can do about the age 65 rule....the gas prices and the economy...but every FO is biting at the bit just to make some more money...

Personally I think its pathetic that our contract is industry leading...it should be the benchmark from where all other airlines negotiate from. The pay sucks...and that goes for every regional airline and most majors

Everyone thinks they deserve to make livable wages. You can't do that as a regional first officer therefore it is looked at as a temporary job (1-2 years max). That has kept pilots flocking to the regionals.

Why would you ever think you'd upgrade in 2 years or less at a company that wasn't growing?

When i got hired upgrade was running right at 2 years cuz we were losing so many people to other airlines...they were running classes of 30 fo's a month...I guess Kevin Laware might have been spoon feeding us crap like he did to the rest of the pilot group....but i remember being there a year and having my seniority in PHL 71 outta 142....right in half....it was gonna be just about another year....then everything else came crashing down lol...no pun intended

I'm having the same problem with uploading a new resume and my app is still in review. I emailed my resume directly to hr.

Default interviews have started

I guess that the interviews started at Air Wisconsin on Monday.
A couple of guys from Mesa and a USA 3000 were among the frist to be interviewed.
Our recurrent instructor said that he thought 10-30 could be hired by the summer depending on how many of the final 13 out on furlough come back.
If the LGA slot swap with Delta goes through, LGA ( and possibley RDU ) could close this summer. DCA could see about 30 flights added.
A few more downgraded captains will be requalified the next few months and a batch of furloughed pilots should be done with training by Feb 11th so that they will be able to bid March schedules.

Not alot of movement..... but movement none the less..............
