The BIGGEST outrage all pilots should be calling their union reps about is the "International Travel Days." All non-owned DCI pilot groups that have an international JS agreement with DL/NW pilots are getting shafted, because jumpseating is still being counted against our travel days. You could have an ASA pilot left at the gate when he runs out of travel days while someone who works at American can fly overseas endless amounts of time!

9E union guys are said to be working with ALPA on this... To me, this is a VERY easy fix. Simply have all PPR numbers for PILOTS switched to unlimited international travel days. Employees of ASA/SKYW/Pinnacle who aren't pilots can stay at 3 for year. This would be a super easy and logical fix.

Yeah I somehow don't see Delta management going for that. You obviously think you deserve more than your fellow DCI employees. You might get unlimited international jumpseat privilages, but not unlimed travel days on your PPR. Management knows that non-wholly owned DCI pilots are using the jumpseat to bypass the three alloted international days, which is why they came up with that. I'm sure DALPA can help you guys get the unlimeted international jumpseat priviledges.

It has to do with how jumpseaters are cleared at DL. if you are an OAL, they use CASS. If you have an employee # in TravelNet, they use that instead.

Good luck with that! While you think it's a very easy fix, DT is up to it's eyeballs in alligators because of the merger, and if they are unwilling to assign manpower to fix our crew computer issues, I seriously don't see them working on DCI employee issues.

Why do OAL jumpseaters deserve more "international jumpseat privileges" than DCI guys?

Delta should start keeping track of OALs and limiting EVERYONE to three international days per year.

Or just go back to the way it used to be pre-merger: unlimited for all employees..less hassle for everyone.

I think it's no secret that most of us are here only for the flight benefits. With the below avergage salary we already make, those flight benefits help offset our disappointment in our pay checks...well, it used to before we were limited to 3 travel days a year....

I was reading the 'Pinnacle Update' that came out today. Looks like we can now add up to 4 parents (no parents in-laws) for pass privileges. However, they still fly at the ZED High...
"move it along, nothing to see here."
I don't think this was anything new, as my parents have had access to the flight benefits on DL/NW but refuses to use the ZED High's. They fly other carriers that we have a ZED Medium agreement with..not only cheaper for them but since they live near the hub of a competing carrier, it's easier to get out on.

Back in the day when ASA had the same benefits as Delta, employees only received 18 transoceanic travel days. I doubt that has changed.

The only people that I knew that ever went close to 18 were those that had family in another country. Six days, on the other hand, is a little more difficult to work with. I couldn't imagine having only three.

Travel at CP is crap!

Mainline. we travel the same priority as SKYwest and all other non owned. I got bumped on a flight because a skywest FA flying in the Midwest system got the last seat (she was 2 days senior by DOH)

On Compass flights we basically go behind all Delta/NWA employees. We are listed as S3 and so are they. so on our airplane it goes to DOH. Yeah like that benifits anyone at Compass. (I took SWA the last time I dealt with this as I was not gonna get a seat on my own airplane.)

As they have said. Welcome to Delta (what a dump)

yeah, really. this is the only airline (and the world's largest, as we keep getting reminded we should be proud of) that i know of that has these ridiculous "travel days"...look at American and United..as large as they are, their regional employees still don't have "travel days"..
I think most 9E employees would be content with what you guys get (18) but goodness...3?!!? I'd rather pay per mile than have this mess.
As I mentioned earlier, at least you guys get S2's to use - we lose out on those, too - so when you fly on 9E aircraft as a S2, you already know regardless of the DOH of a 9E employee, you're getting on..we don't get the chance to compete with anyone using S2's.

What does it really cost DL for the non-wholly regionals to have the same non-rev benefits as the wholly-owned's?

Restricted international travel days is bull. What do they care? The thing that is even more ridiculous is the priority of Delta Academy. Delta would rather have a commuting pilot sit in a jumpseat for 3 hours and risk being fatigued (or even denied boarding) rather than leave behind a CFI from Florida trying to visit his girlfriend in Seattle.
