The hotel is very nice (Candlewood Suites)! They all have small kitchens so you can save money by dining in (if you so choose). There are about 4-5 restaurants within walking distance. Nothing too fancy. The Simply Burger restaurant is really good, and not very expensive.

 

Thanks for the info. I can barely stomach Subway ever since getting food poisoning at the lovely gas station Subway. Nice to know we have better options now.

 

I had a speeding ticket by 2007 and got the job. There must be something else.

 

I would like to say to all those who don't get the job and cAn't figure out why: maybe you weren't what they were looking for? These companies don't always see you as a number. Sometimes your personality isn't a fit. Simple as that

 

They don't put you in the candlewood for training..that's only for the interview. AA guys stay there for training.

We stay at the comfort suites / la quinta in Euless (off 360 i think). And the Park Inn airport now.

 

Do they still send folks home the second week of training for CBT if you get a jet slot?

 

that maybe it, I had a ticket myself. who knows? Anyone considering that special assignments for FOs

 

Really guys...lets cut out the scare tactics. A couple of speeding tickets won't disqualify you. I have 2, both from 6 years ago and I was not only invited to interview but offered the job at Eagle.

After the dust settles on my end a little bit I'm going to start one big thread dealing with a couple of the common scare tactics that people throw around the forums. They are really getting annoying.

Just a teaser: Before my interview with Eagle I was losing my mind because multiple people on this forum kept saying over and over that they HATE to see whiteout in your logbooks. I kept hearing about how people were sent home because of whiteout, etc.... Thanks for adding to an already stressful situation guys..

I get to the interview with some whiteout in my logbook that goes back to my student pilot days. I had a few corrections to make on the last few pages and instead of using whiteout I created new columns at the bottom of my logbook with the correct totals.

Guess what the interviewer said to me when he saw that? "Use whiteout!" I did a double take! He said it again, "Get whiteout or greenout. It's no big deal." End....Of....Story!! Yet some people on here had me losing my mind over this whiteout situation.

That is just the beginning. There is so much more misinformation tossed around that I just can't stand it anymore. Most of it is from people who THINK they are sure of something that they have no personal experience with. That is a slippery slope. Expunged arrests is another topic.

Like I said, I will come back next week sometime and debunk some myths I have seen around here.

I know for a fact that a couple of years ago they were annoyed with the use of whiteout. You have to keep in mind that the people doing the hiring now might not all be the same group from a few years ago. So don't be quick to bash folks. Don't let loose on people, but rather share your experience so others may prepare for what might be required of them when invited for an interview. Just a thought.
