For those that have interviewed recently and gotten the conditional offer, how long has the phone call taken? Seems like it was taking between 2 and 4 weeks a few months ago but now it seems people are getting the call about 2 weeks out. I interviewed on May 4th and the waiting game is tough!

Mine took a week and a half but I had all of my paperwork from my employers returned to them the very next day and all of the other stuff was complete before I left on interview day.

There have been alot of new hires failing at the school house. We do need pilots, but our training is no joke. Come to class with your game face on ready to play ball. The biggest area of failure is the sim......just say'n folks.

I second that, just finished up sim last week. Nearly half of the ATR class fell behind at least a day in sim. Not sure if any actually failed out.

You're talking about failing a session or 2 or getting resigned???

Training is no joke and is hard. It was my first 121 training and it's difficult.

Take it serious in training, have fun after IOE.

Does anyone know what the attrition rate for new hire training is?

I can't imagine it being too high... the local friendly neighborhood FSDO would have their heads up the training department's ass in a hurry if Eagle had consistently high training failures.

Getting people all jacked up with horror stories isn't helping anyone's cause. Sure, people don't make it from time to time, but there's usually more to the story than "they washed out".

I've been through it too. It's hard, no joke, you need to take it seriously. But I firmly believe if you come in with a good attitude and show them you want to be there, they (the training dept) will do what it takes to get you through.

Stay focused, keep your nerves in check, and keep your eye on the prize.

Well Eagle definitely needs pilots. I've been flying there since Sep 2006. Just upgraded to CRJ Capt. in LGA. Still waiting for the flow plan to come out so I can see when my class is.

I would say the training department is pretty good. I flew in the Navy for twenty years so I have a basis of comparison to some of the best training out there. Eagle is pretty good comparatively. But like many airlines, they give the minimum training possible to get one through. Cost considerations drive that obviously but I understand Eagle is a little better about providing training than some other regionals. I have no basis of comparison to other airlines though personally.

But like every airline, Eagle has it's share of policy changes and so training policies can change depending on many variables. And so the attrition rate can change with it depending on the policy du-jur. That's what I'm trying to get the feel for.

I talked with another pilot that can be considered knowledgable who related that most of the attrition for FO's at Eagle are after they get their type rating. At that point the new FO's bail to go to another airline that is paying better and/or does not have such a doom and gloom forecast from a potential divestiture.
