The thing about AMR is that no one really knows what will happen until it happens. In my opinion that might be because the people who make those decisions don't know what they're going to do until the last minute in many cases. Business is too fluid to have a lot of long term planning and this industry is too volatile for stability. That's just a generality and my opinion. That also means things can swing towards favoring pilots suddenly too. Just like all the flowthroughs and sudden upgrades. |
Looks like the pilots waiting for IOE are waiting about two weeks now.
I have an IOE captain on my line this month. This is the second week in a row I was displaced for IOE. No reassignment. Just hang at home and get paid.... |
Well that's BS...they reassigned me another 4 day when I got booted for IOE last week! haha
|
Word from recruitment today was 377 more pilots to hire. So far they've brought in 300.
|
Should be interesting to see how many bite at that chance to be pegged on the bottom. My guess is Eagle will be scrambling for those last 300 applicants. The only positive is, by the time they hire these 300 they may need another 300. It wouldn't surprise me to see 500/50 soon. The people I've talk to are all getting offers when they interview at various airlines. This tells me the regionals are getting desperate now.

At this point, they probably won't reassign me. They had until 24 hours prior to my original departure to reassign me. |
Any new gouges from the guys who interviewed this week?
|
Are the other regionals still hiring?

From the 2010 Nall Report....
At the other end, commercial pilots with more than 2,000 hours made up twice as large a share of the accident group (63 percent) as of the pilot population (31 percent), and they had more than half of the fatal accidents. Only 15 percent of all private pilots reported more than 1,000 hours, but 32 percent of all accidents and 35 percent of fatal accidents among private pilots occurred in this group. |
