I'm with you on this one... There is a very dangerous spot for pilots around that 500+ hour mark for private pilots because they THINK they know it all or that they are a GOOD pilot and get complacent... this is a proven statistic and psychological error. I'm sure there is a hour mark for commercial pilots as well.
I don't remember all the details and I don't know if the information is available online. I think it was based on either flight time around 4,000 hours or age about 40 years, or both. It stated those pilots were prone to complacency to a higher degree. Similar to what you're saying. I'll see if I can find the article. |
Well this week we've heard from the President of Eagle, the VP of flight ops, the COO of operations and one of the ALPA reps and not one of them mentioned divestiture being dead. They all claimed it was still in the works but nothing was decided yet. So I don't think we'll truly know until it the day it happens...
Also spoke with someone from the 4/11 class and they had a zero delay going to sim from ground. Had orals one day and started sim the next. |
Even if AMR says the divestiture is off, if a good opportunity comes along that requires divesting Eagle, I don't think they will hesitate to do that at a moments notice.
ALPA just sent out an email that indicates the next batch of AE flow throughs could go anywhere from November 2011 to March 2012. It all depends on how AA recalls go. Nothing definite. ALPA stated the latest recall rate as of tonight is 33%, or "one out of three" as they put it. |
Would you guys please hurry up and finish IOE :P!

As for RickT sorry but you just need to be patient talked to a buddy that is 4 weeks in front of me that didnt have a delay between Sim Checkride and Loft and he just picked up his third IOE trip in 4 weeks. Also, the weather that Dallas had this past week is not helping. |
haha I know :P, it was slow a month ago when I came through, I just would not mind a name or two below me when I proffer! I am jk though, I understand.

delays are just the norm right now. I'm sitting at home waiting on two sim days, as are about 11 people from my class. I was told to expect another week home. people a class ahead of us are also waiting.
One of the problems is the flight safety sim went down for mx which caused a lot of scheduling issues. |

Well I was just displaced for IOE for the third week in a row.... Since I hold a Monday through Thursday line, it will be hard to get an open four day trip to replace it. Open four day trips starting on a Monday or a Tuesday are rare, go figure....
So this last week I hung out at home with no reassignment.... So far it looks like I'll be doing that again this next week. I don't know if there's a way to figure out who is bidding for the same line you are but if I could, I would probably avoid bidding with an IOE captain. I actually don't like to sit around for days on end. I wind up wasting too much time on forums.... |
