Seriously!! I was hoping for a few more CA vacancies on this one since the previous bid was all FO's as well. Seems to only be getting worse.

This is reminiscent of summer 07 where ORD needed 99 FO's in the vacancy for several months in a row.

Hope the next one throws some CA's our way again.

Upgrades are done for a while until the next batch of FT's are AA bound.

From ALPA yesterday:

"For Eagle pilots, this has been a very difficult year and there is no end in sight. Management had hoped that they would see some positive staffing numbers by September but that has not come to fruition. The most recent staffing forecasts show Eagle remaining below its pilot targets until January 2012. To make matters worse, current recall rates from furloughed American pilots could cause the next group of Eagle flow-through pilots to begin transferring to American Airlines as early as November. Although that is good news for those pilots, it will certainly exacerbate Eagle‟s short pilot staffing."

That coincides with the vacancy bid.

I'm wondering what the next step will be to get more pilots on property....

Could someone explain the flow-through to AA? I thought after that last 250ish pilots who went to AA from AE, the flow-through agreement was done. Are there still pilots who are eligible for flow through?

Realize they arent paying enough...

More on a serious note, I have never worked a regional.. but am considereing it for teh first time ever. Wierd because I have said for years I would quit aviation before I go to the Regionals, but I just cant throw away a very expensive education. So with that said, I got a few questions.

Is DFW a junior base? How long will i realistically spend on reserve? With this much short staffing, can a guy actually make better than his 75 hour monthly guarantee?

I believe the New York bases are junior, but there's not that many crew in LGA or JFK to begin with. The best EMJ schedules are in ORD and DFW because they have the most lines. The best CRJ Schedules are ORD. LGA is the only other CRJ base currently.

With 47 CRJ's and over 200 EMJ's, the best schedules are with the EMJ.

The time spent on reserve is always changing. Currently, I think it's about one to three months. It will probably get longer because the flow throughs have stopped for a few months. Flow throughs may resume as early as November but could be March of next year or longer. I think another 800+ pilots are eligible for flow through.

Breaking the 75 hour guarantee should not be hard at all.

On the EMJ it's easy to break 75 and pick up OT. Pretty much impossible on the ATR, however.

I finished May with 97.50 (97 hrs, 50 min) scheduled, with 4hrs in Open Time Critical Coverage.

It can be done...I'm still in the middle of the RSV list.
