I'm all for SJU. Time permitting I'll get a part time job at the Bacardi factory to help pay some bills.

ya I had one guy in my class who picked SJU ATR with both EMJ CRJ left to pick at his time, and my friend likes it a ton

I am ALL about some SJU! Hubs doesn't want to fly a turbo prop and worries about commuting, but I'm thinking of non-rev'ing to SJU here and there when possible-beaches, waves, awesome! And what's the big deal with flying a turbo prop anyhow?? It's still bigger than a CIRRUS!!!!
Idk, everyone on here will give you 1000 reasons, most will say shiny jet syndrome. Only reason I was glad to avoid it was because I was already scared enough of the possibility of not making it through airline training and putting a major handicap on my career. The jet is said to be easier than the ATR, so that was my logic, but I was just happy to get the job, and would have taken anything. |

Experience in a turbo prop will make you a better pilot in the end. Your logic failed.

Why do guys fail during training?

However in my class I have no idea about the details of the individuals who did not make it. But you did not answer how much turbo prop time you got, since you were never on the ATR? |

Main reason IMHO is too many other things in their life and not focused on their new job training, it is not just a full time job while in training, its a full time life, and if you cant do that you most likely wont make it.
