Please explain how ORD EMJ is not considered junior?? Unless I am missing something (which could very well be the case), for the August bid period there were 221 lines (excluding the reserve and composite lines). As of the July 31st seniority list from the ALPA site there are 225 FOs. Am I missing something? It looks to me like only 4 would be on reserve (which doesnt sound right).

Nope...at the end of june ORD EMJ had 291 guys/gals holding bid status.

At Aug 1, there are only 284 guys/gals holding bid status. Minus the TDYs, and RSV TDYs, guy/gals in training dept and leave.

There are about 50 guys in the rsv list for august. (might be a couple of less guys, don't know)

So what am I missing then? The last sen. list I looked at had a bunch more FOs. This month's only says 225. Check it out and let me know. Since im not technically "in base" yet I cant look in SABRE....

There will be only 225 FOs in ORD when everyone that has been awarded a CA bid goes to class.

Why is the CRJ/ORD junior? Seems like a good gig....

Also, what is the difference between long and short hauls? Pros/cons?

Because no one on the ERJ can bid into it even tho probably 50% would like to.

As well as transfers to other bases, but this only includes up to the newest class, each class in the future that has ORD EMJ slots will add in more people before that final time arrives in which that hypothetical number would be reached of 225. So by say Jan 2012 it will still be 280ish.
