My suggestion is look for someplace near the turnpike in Broward County. Miami-Dade county is way overpriced. Margate, Pompano, North Lauderdale, even West Boca. Should be able to find cheaper up that way and still only be 45-60 min away.

I've seen it but I can't remember where it was. Probably in the section describing ATP written, etc. But that time can't count towards the PIC requirement to obtain an ATP.

Somebody must know of some community to look at? We like the Sunrise, Davies, Plantation area, and its only a 45 minute drive.
One thing to take in account:

If you move too far away like 45-60 mins & along the Turnpike, then you will save money on RENT but PAY for GAS & TOLLS..... Do the MATH, otherwise, places a little North around Turnpike are generally cheaper.

I was reading about Travel Benefits for regionals in another Thread.

Can someone explain a bit about the Eagles Travel benefits, domestic & international, do we have to wait for an X amount of time with company, etc etc....

Are Eagle's travel & Non REV benefits better than other regionals.

thanks for the help guys, today has pushed us to look toward one bedrooms with large storage space/sq ft, seems like we might find something we like between 1000 and 1100 all said in done, hopefully we have some winners, also they are right next to the saw grass, so the drive should be easy. Next I will be asking everyone the secret ways to cut down to MIA from up here =)!

Rick, my wife and I lived in West Kendall, just north of Kendall-Tamiami airport. We payed $900 a month for two bed and bath townhouse. Although that was late nineties. Good luck.

thanks for the help, we are going home in the morning unhappy. I think we have to come down yet again, and look south this time too. We just are not happy with what we get for the money, I thought being near NYC was expensive, but this sucks even more overall. Its like being in a crumhole or pay out the arse, or be REALLY far. At this point I could stay driving in/out nyc for the same overall value, I should have bid DFW haha.

For $1,200.00 you can get a 2br. apt 15min or less from DFW. In MIA, YOU have to make lots of dough to live well.

From what I hear from my friends in DFW you can get a nice 2br in a nice neighbor within 30 min of DFW for UNDER 1000/mo. In MIA you can get that 1hr from MIA for 1200/mo at LEAST. If your willing to live somewhere with bars on the window, you can get that within 30 min of MIA, just dont expect to see your car in the driveway when you leave for work.
