If that's all you were doing, then you didn't understand the system. I still have friends there, 3rd and 4th year FO's and they're doing close to 60k. They say it's even easier with everythign being 150% pay.

bid a 72 hour line with tons of days off... try to create transition conflicts and get paid for the removals... then pick up a nice 20+ hour trip on 150% pay to run yourself up to 92... sneak in a day trip and your pushing 100 scheduled. Leave the gate 10 prior, come in 10 late on each leg and poof, that extra day trip gets removed and you get paid for that extra day trip without working it... then fly fast again, go undertime, and pick something else up. Repeat process as needed. The really good guys get 140 in pay credit a month, with over 40 of it being on 150%.... and they still end up with 11 days off.... just not the same 11 days they were originally awarded.

it's way different on the AA side, but at Eagle you can drive your pay up to ridiculous levels without too much effort. To add to that, I hear they are awarding 300% for vacation time flown instead of taken. Any FO off of first year pay, and off reserve, should be able to turn 50k or close to it if they try...

I would call. I was given my class date before I did the medical, they just want it done at least a week before class starts. Typically once you're thru the review board you're given a date. Drug test only takes about 3 days to come back.

I'm not an airline pilot and i'm not sure how the system works, but your methods seem questionable. Getting paid without working, 10 min late 10 early, faster/slower... but im a little old school, treat the company right even though they may not treat you properly.

But i will also say this, i have a couple freinds at regionals now and it seems like if you just show up to work and do your job, the regionals are not much to complain about. Yes the pay sucks and work rules this that yatty ya..... but again that goes back to my opinion of, dont take the job in the first place if you dont want it!

..... Meanwhile, back in the real world...

This is business. Nothing to do woth ethics and morals. The company will utilize/benefit from you to the best of their abilities as per your CBA, and you should do the same to the company. No hard feelings, just business. Nothing wrong with creatively working the system and getting paid "soft time".

LOL.... No, I don't think we're going to shut up. At least I'm not because you said so. I disagree, this subject is for the boards. Not that a lot of people will see it anyway. And even less will give a ****. Especially the pay management who likely know these things better than most of us.

We have a muh bigger threat from things other than a change in a new contract in 2013 because a few FO's work the system legally.

I might try the low hour bid and then pick up open time at a higher rate, but I don't know if I want to sacrifice too many days off. Good techniques. Thanks for sharing. It seems like an art to make all of that work...

It's all business..... I think the company knows how to work the contract better than most pilots. That's how they have an advantage. It's good business for them to know the contract well. But it is for us too. I'm still figuring it out, but I'm getting there.

It's one thing to work the system, but it's another to block out 10 early and in 10 late (and then go underblock when it suits you). They overblock these legs so bad that unless you have weather or are a victim of severe dynamic manning it's very questionable if you're padding 20 mins on each leg.

I picked up to 30:00 scheduled my last 6 days and ended up almost 1 hr under (of course I'm not running the tiller and was flying with some of those guys that are in a huge hurry for absolutely no reason). But even most legs with guys taxiing normally and flying plan mach (which I almost always do) are underblock.
