It's one thing to work the system, but it's another to block out 10 early and in 10 late (and then go underblock when it suits you). They overblock these legs so bad that unless you have weather or are a victim of severe dynamic manning it's very questionable if you're padding 20 mins on each leg.
I picked up to 30:00 scheduled my last 6 days and ended up almost 1 hr under (of course I'm not running the tiller and was flying with some of those guys that are in a huge hurry for absolutely no reason). But even most legs with guys taxiing normally and flying plan mach (which I almost always do) are underblock.

I'll be in La garbage in October..... We'll see how that goes. Not a lot of lines compared to Chicago. JFK looks about the same as LGA.
Chicago has about 250 hard lines for the Embraer. Right now it seems like it would be easy to use the low hour technique and pick up lots of open time at 150%.
Just a few months ago open time was blocked for most of the month. Now I don't think anything is blocked anywhere.

Yes, I'm upgrading to the CRJ in LGA. Scheduled to be there in late October.

Nice congrats, ya I am going to MIA at the end of summer. JFK is good for new hires, it has 2-3 guys coming in a month as new hires on the emb right now. LGA EMB is not a good place to go, bottom emb fo is an 08 hire, so thats not a good place to go.

My budy finished IOE in FEB and he's the junior FO for MIA, except for the couples of TDYs that got there this month. He finished his first 100hrs in the emb about 2.5 months after done with training.
MIA is super senior. + you'll have a lot of people moving from the ATR to the EMB by summer.

Be prepared to be in the bottom of the list of reserve at MIA for long time...

Plus I want to live within 30 min of the airport, I would not mind RSV at all, as long as it is not , so as long as i had like 5 people under me, it would be a great base.

From what I got that is going to change. Right now it is like 35 pilots and has been that way for a bit now, but the flow plan piles people in fast come late summer, plus there are about 20 guys about to finish up in the school house that are new hires that are mia emb, there was like 2 classes in a row in March that had 10 mia emj. From what I saw with the flow plan, when I get down there which should be around Sept1st it shows me being like 45ish of 65ish, and I heard the base might be 100 pilots when its all done.

Plus from security to D60 or Crew lounge is a long walk...been there, done that.
Remember flow plan is current, as vacancy bids goes out it's going to change...for starters in that flow plan you're looking there are about 25 guys above me (I'm a Nov 2010 hire) moving to MFE. Plus there will be more guys moving all year from MFA to MFE that got the ATR last year and still seat locked.
Just don't keep your expectations too high, it will help you a lot in this industry. Study hard...we need pilots! So bring your friends along...
