If you don't study they will be able to tell and you probably won't pass the class. If you're not studying every night and staying late everynight, expect to either be sent home or forgotten about.

You better know the material front to back, captain and fo flows, and everything within reach in your brain.

Really not a big deal. You MUST know the profiles. I would HIGHLY recommend knowing the FO flows as well. The captain flows really aren't that important. If you aren't used to it, the FMS and FCP will be a bit of a learning curve. All the instructors there are regional pilots and very patient and knowledgeable. They are very good at teaching/explaining the sim. I can tell this class will definitely be a value when I start class. Knowing how to fly with the FCP and how to do V1 cuts, single engine go-arounds, etc. will be very beneficial. Don't stress studying night and day before class. Get the profiles down, and know the flows and you will be just fine.

In a nutshell, if you can't pass this class, you shouldn't even be flying a cessna.

Thanks Brewmaster and Astec. I certainly won't be taking this couse lightly and I am excited for the opportunity.

In reality man. The course overall is a good experience, just very long and drawn out unnecessarily. Just come prepared and you probably won't study again. Brewmaster an I attended at the same time, and we didn't study once outside the classroom for longer than a few minutes. Even then it was just brushing up on callouts and whatnot.

There is very little guidance in regards to, what one needs to know and when. Those who are deliberate in their studies have been seeking advice from people in classes ahead of us as to what we should focus on. Captain upgrade and transition guys have commented on how good the training used to be.

It has really become a self study program with a very limited amount of oversight from the instructors. We haven't figured out if it is a cost issue, man power problem, leadership/mgmt problem or what. The truth is checkride failures have gone way up and I'm sure the higher ups are seeing a lot of $$$'s being flushed.

My advice for those who are just about to start class, find some one ahead of you in class and continue to ask them how much you should know and by what date.

There is a whole elephant to eat, but you gotta eat it one bite at a time.

Don't be shy asking the guys upgrading to steer you in the right direction. If not find them and try to get together with them. They will help you weed out what you need to focus on.

It looked right when I checked it earlier. The pic you posted dint have an employee # in there (unless you removed it for anonymity...) Plus you have November not September selected. Also I'm not sure why but some of your numbers look different than what I saw. Not sure...

1) sen # removed, it doesn't make a difference anyway. i tried it with other members from my new hire class.

2) 1 month (sept vs november) is irrelevant, we're talking about either a 15 or 16 month upgrade if that chart was accurate. either way, that is waaaaay off.

its def wrong, if I had power I would go look what mine showed, since I think we are the same class, or very close, but I am in the dark, during a flood, and have work 6pm tomorrow. Maybe from my the 8 hour over night I can try haha.

2 ways.

1. Cell phone still works, with data plan.

2. I have a DC charger for most my electronics, so my car which has a 5 port plug has been my backup generator for my stuff. I then can tether my laptop when its charged to my cell phone and get data that way.

just sayin....

First of all you have to insert your employee number. And second...if you read carefully on the right says something like "if you're a current FO, don't use this to know when are you going to have a captain seat", because is not made for that...
