Sounds simple, but the fact that it's a type ride and the added pressure of the Feds watching over your shoulder and you have a recipe for a nervous pilot.
It's so much more than "just a steep turn".

That's why people fail their type rides. There are so many small things you can get nailed for: from basic engine start procedures and taxi routes to abnormal procedures and decision making.

Really? Feds makes the applicant nervous? If thats the case, I don't want to be a pax when the manure hits the fan up front. You have to be able to perform under pressure. I guess we have a bunch of Tony Romo's at Eagle. Bunch of chokers. It's silly that guys are busting just because the FAA is observing the DE perform the ride.

They aren't asking for perfect checkrides. However, they don't just hand out type certificates, you have to earn it. And if you think you can walk in there and ace the type ride because you've "been on this airplane for 5 years" it ain't happening. I don't care if you are Chuck fu(king Yeager. But you've got nerves of steel, so don't bother preparing. Just don't bitc4 when you fail
