They'll be one the top type-rating producers, but won't be able to retain those they type very long. Ahhh.........a good Chapter 11 can fix anything !

400 pilots being furloughed??? While over 2500 FAs being furloughed?? Is this all AA or you guys are affected too?? I got many friends and former students at eagle, the ones I spoke to are just as clueless as to the future of the company. Wish you guys the best!

Those numbers are only AA.

Eagle is about to be hit by a steam train, just wait till AA gives up the Eagle part of their scope. This is going to suck beyond belief. AA will come to us with a huge paycut to keep our flying for 5 years, or if we do not take it they will ebay out our flying. This will suck no matter what we do.

That'll be the worst case scenario. I don't see any regionals that are in good financial standings that can replace a significant portion of AE's flying. Nevermind the hard time they will have trying to hire guys that will meet ATP standards by next year in order to cover the additional flying. I'm sure AA will use scare tactics as always. Man this industry is brutal and dirty and so wrong in so many ways...

Supposedly channel 4 news Dfw had a story tonight on 500 eagle f/a's being furloughed. I couldn't find anything to back it up though.

Apparently you're misguided. You don't realize the feeding frenzy you're swimming in. As soon as the news hit, CEOs from all 4 corners were salivating at the doors in DFW. The big issue is gearslingers and somehow I think there's enough at AE to cover that problem. AA does not want AE. AA wants cheap regionals covering their flying and however AA can achieve that cheap flying is how AA's going to proceed. So, AE will either stand alone, after being crushed by AA in bankruptcy, or, be swallowed up into another regional, which means no more AE.

Also other regionals do not need to be in good financial standing, a nice lucrative deal from AA could change that overnight, and it would still be cheaper than AE. Do you all forget that we are in the contract business? You are always broke until that next contract gets signed!

They'll hire furloughed Eagle pilots. IIRC Eagle did a ton of hiring in 2010 and 2011, there are probably hundreds of pilots that don't have a lot invested at Eagle and will have no problem jumping ship.

Kind of sucks for them since they'll get rehired at year 1 probably literally flying the same aircraft and routes they were before.

AMR will get their scope relief from APA and then they will dangle new planes in front of Eagle while we all bend over and take it.
Let's face it, if they get a salary cap put in place, they just solved the longevity issue. AMR likes to have control and they don't want to give it up to some non-owned regional if they don't have to. Eagle is in bK too. Costs will be cut all over the place and put us in a much more competitive position then we already are. Those new planes will be coming here, it's just a matter of how much they can beat us down with concessions and threats of furloughs first.
