No sarcasm needed.... The way they have been handling this so far, I didnt expect that many cuts (at least not this early).

Multiply it by 4, and that should be the overall number when all is said and done.

Any word on a number for pilots? 15k that could be across the board psa, rampers, maintence ,etc etc.

Well, this is true. I'm sure AMR wants the situation to look as grim as possible, so as to attempt to cut as deep as can be.

As many as possible. As soon as bankruptcy was declared all the construction projects that were on hold suddenly came back to life. It was like the company wanted to waste as much money as possible. They have to make it look as bad as possible for the judge.

Not sure how to take that last part, but this was posted on our restructuring page from Horton:

Fair and equitable - All workgroups will have total costs reduced by 20 percent, including management. While the savings from each work group will be achieved somewhat differently, each will experience the same percentage reduction.

Someone on another forum posted that AMR wrote down well over 700 million dollars in aircraft.
