So what's your point? What they were asking him to do was Illegal. He saved himself and the company from a violation or fine.

You owe back dues then. You should suggest that or cut them a check.

Ok I get it, you're a troll that doesn't know what they're talking about.

And if you all want to do that, then that's what ruins it all for everybody else - not standing up for your rights! Doesn't matter if I've been here for 1 day or 15 years, union is supposed to stand up for us and they did their job today - and a good job might I add.

Did you confuse me with RJ pilot? I was complementing you.

I guess I read it the wrong way... meaning that I think the rules don't apply because I'm a newhire. Sorry. But I think if pilots wouldn't let the company run all over them and take it, half the sh!t that goes on, wouldn't.

Good luck!

Making waves, if that's what you want to call it, only because they need to be made. If a company wants to look down on me or fire me because I stand up for myself and others, by following the contract that YOU ALL put in place, and by following the FAR's, then they can shove it.

You went about this the correct way, pointing out to her that it was illegel and then contacting a union rep was the a good move on your part. Now please understand that you aren't protected by the union and the union is very limited on what they can do for you. Situations like these the union should be able to help but please keep your emotions in check, I know a few people have blasted you here for standing up for your self as a new hire but you seem very confrontal and with an attitude like this you might not make it to the line! Take care of your self, do what is right, stay under the radar and most importantly choose your battles wisely.

Sorry if it comes across as an attitude, but I don't, really. I'm just sick of these regionals trying to convince pilots, especially newhires, of breaking regs and running over them.

Im afraid that its too late to stay under the radar. I really enjoy flying with right seaters with that kind of attitude, makes the job fun!

Trust me, MANY more people are sick of left seater's like you. Wait till you take a 20% paycut, you will be a real jolly to fly with then. Just remember you work for a regional not AA.
