I emailed her... Told her that I stated on airline apps that I failed a checkride, but it did not ask for multiple failures. Told her I retook my private twice and learned from it. then I said, since then- I've never failed or recieved an unsat. Thanked her for her time and for being very helpful.

You guys thik that will be sufficient?

You need to make sure that they know you failed it twice, by your post above it can be taken as failed once...

It's tough to gauge the hiring department and what will get you in the door or not. If you don't get the call or the offer..do not sweat it.

That recruiting dept has no clue what it is doing. And those guys there doing the interviews? They're not that cool.

I'm convinced they're doing the interviews because no one will go out with them on overnights.

I had a friend who didn't get an offer and she was really upset. Do not let the AE recruiting dept throw you off. It is far from a world class operation.

I sound a little one sided here and disgruntled. I played more phone tag with those folks when I got recalled...it was a different person trying to run the show each week and no one was sure what was going on.

I had the same situation. When I interviewed everything went great. They offered me the job. Then two weeks later they sent me a letter and rescinded the offer. Couldn't tell me why. I'm guessing it was the confusion about the checkride failures. It's too bad cause I was excited to work there.

Really? Do you know them personally? I know one of the guys well. I've flown with him a bunch and he was pretty cool to hang out with on the overnights.

I bet you're one of those guys that if it doesn't go your way, you b!tch and complain. And no matter how good things are, you will find something to whine about. Glass half empty kinda guy.

Yeah man, I can't back you up on that one. I know those guys personally and have flown with one of them. One of the coolest CA's in DFW. We laughed from block out to block in.

A certain criteria has been established and they do follow it. They get all kinds of folks that they want to hire, but for what ever the reason, don't cut it. If you go in there with 10,000 hrs, really want the job and not showing that you're gonna jump ship asap, and are acting very interested, you're gonna get hired. If you go in like a douche, don't have your paperwork squared away, lie about PRIA matters, or just simply don't care, you're not gonna get an invite.

Ideally, they want ZERO failures for any checking event. Private thru what ever. If your shi!t is tight, they will take you with one.

just play their game, just like when you go to the sims. laugh politely at their corny jokes, smile, be respectful (especially with the captains, this should be a no brainer), etc.

above all, don't be a clown or talk any crap about eagle (such as only using it as a stepping stone, this company sucks, etc). i'm also convinced the "holding tank" classroom is bugged, so just go a whole day with a smile on your face and only nice things coming out of your mouth. that shouldn't kill anybody.

overall, my hiring process was tedious in many respects, mostly paperwork, but the people were nice and fairly helpful. my $0.02

I'll have to agree with you on this one. I wasn't too bad til I came to Eagle and spent time with some of the most miserable people on earth...not just pilots...agents, fa's, rampers.

But it's okay. I can't handle it and that is why I'm leaving. The airline will be better off without self-entitled know-it-all pricks like myself.

I'll call it as it is so no one else has to waste their breath.

Enjoy.

So my buddy that got a conditional offer recently with a failed PVT and CFI is bound to get a rejection after a couple weeks? That's bush league.

'edit' Why get people's hopes up? Why not just put that criteria in the hiring minimums?
