Keep an eye on The UAL CAL merger, if it happens this could be the second golden age of skywest. There will new flying up for grabs as well as old flying from airlines like xjt and mesa that probably won't survive the merger due to their high costs and horrible financial states. It wouldn't surprise me if Skywest even helped financed the merger to get a guarante percentage of the flying.
Our costs on the 70 seaters are the lowest in the industry and we are the BEST positioned to take on new flying the quickest. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a IAH and EWR crj 700 base if this does happen. Keep your fingers crossed I know the boys in SGU are already planning their attack strategy.

I think both SkyWest/ASA and ExpressJet would come out the best in the merger situation. Maybe the BRO will show up in other areas of the country...
Also Colgan could be a factor with the Q400s... Dont know how the "last look" option would be for any new flying in a merged UA/CO.. Q400 to ASE?

Wow, just Wow....................
No one drinks more Kool-Aid than you Slap. So, just how do you think XJT's contract will be cancelled? Under what grounds? Remember that they’re operating at less than what our bid was. Make no mistake, their contract will be upheld during the merger just as ours will and just like with DAL our flying will be remain, for the most part, "status quo."
BTW, we at SKW are not the lowest cost regional, not even close.

It just so happens that we already have an RSR... Based on what he told me, it doesn't seem like his input makes a whole lot of difference anyway. He gives them a heads up on what we'd like, and then they give us whatever garbage they want regardless!! The United blame game doesn't fly, our Delta side is just as bad if not worse.
Glad to "hear" your pairing quality was "very high"... It proves my point that our pairings in a more senior base than yours, can and should be improved!

out of curiousity where is this senior base?
