Skywest staffing
#122
I'm not privy to all the details, however, there were fixed costs associated with opening mke as a base for Midwest that I guess were shared. I'm guessing we'd have to pay that back plus damages if we used the base to directly compete with them. The way the story goes it has to be closed for a certain amount of time (already elapsed) and they can reopen if they like.

Sounds like DL isn't committing Skywest to a certain amount of consistent flying here. Kinda like how the XJ 900 SLC flying is all over the place from month to month. XJ refuses to open a base there, given its costs, when DL won't commit to anything. In the end, we all end up with crap pairings and crap schedules. Thanks big D.
I know it is a long shot from the topic of this thread, but is this what your management telling you about Delta and your quality of life?
And you are buying it?
Or are you in the management?
You guys need to realize that you fly for crap and have to fly a lot. You feel that you are understaffed when you fly 95 hours, not 75. And who doesn't want it to change? Delta doesn't care.
