Some of the SkyWest pilots have the "Me, Myself, and I" mentality. Take a look at REPUBLIC. I was in the van last week with a guy in Tulsa that was proud that Chautauqua/Republic/Shuttle/Lynx/Midwest Express/Frontier Pilots would be flying A320's at regional wages. It's guys like you that back companies like GoJet, that abuse professional pilots. It's time to take back our industry that EACH and EVERY one of us worked hard at to join. It's time we bring back the days of Jimmy Hoffa (minus the violence and mafia involvement) and have the muscle of a union against the whip of management. Let's stop management from dancing on our contracts and Railway Labor Act. We're much better than this. MUCH BETTER!
No one is flying an 320 at regional wages. No one said they would be happy to do so either. I understand you're trying to make a point, but at least use an actual experience rather than making up a blatant lie.
To the point of this thread, one list is absolutely necessary. It looks like a few are naive enough to think management won't play the whipsaw game to save a dollar. Lets pretend for a minute that the current skywest management team wouldn't, what happens when the next group comes in? Its extremely shortsighted to oppose integration because you're happy with things right now.

This RAH Captain in the van last week was talking about and convinced that he was going to be flying the Airbus because in the end, it's all going to be one list when all said and done. I have no dog in this fight though. Just ****es me off that this guy was willing to fly a mainline airplane for 50 seat wages.

will you still say that even if your management negotiates away growth and flying (that would have benefited your seniority #) so as to seal the deal with XJT's union? I am being serious. This does involve you and your career. The status quo is changing at your company whether you like it or not.
Nothing says they even need to talk with you, from what I understand it is a take it or leave it deal. You say no they walk away and then wait a few months and buy the scraps in a chapter 7 sale. Either way I don't care, skywest staying independent is more important than anything else out there.
I think it’s funny that 2 weeks ago you guys were saying the one list will happen no matter what but now you've moved the goal posts and finally have come to terms with that fact that one list will not happen. What will the story be next month?
This is all happening exactly like I thought it would.

Bravo. well said. Why else would Skywest management want to keep ASA separate? The only reason would be for whipsaw purposes. You have to be blind not to see it coming.

Oh to be 30 again and so prescient. Glad to see your plan is all falling into place. Would you care to predict what your career earnings will be compared to airline pilots who actually stood for something besides themselves?
I'm sure money isn't why you are in this career field, right? Let me guess, as I try to think way back to my thirty-somethings.....You've got a great view from your office.....You love the "challenge" of flying.....You love the feeling that you get when you grease the landing.....Chicks dig you 'cuz you have that take charge, pilot mentality.....You could transfer to a different field at anytime and become successful, but why should you.....You'll be hired at a major by the time you're 30, oops, 32 and you'll make Captain at that major in five years and retire with millions.
Maybe you'll wake up in midlife, maybe not. When your ex-wife (or two)takes half and you can't afford to pay your kids college tuition and your idea of a great retirement is to sell your house and buy an RV to see the sights from the ground instead of from 30,000 feet, you'll begin to understand the value of pilots sticking together.
I don't have a dog in your hunt, I've got mine and I'm bored of fighting your fight anymore, especially since you don't seem to want to fight anyway. Good luck with your career and enjoy that great view, that's all you'll have to show for it.

You don't have any leverage, your union is ready to drop the one list anyway, they realize that this is the only viable solution. It is HIGHLY unlikely that you would get any guarantee of "future growth" whatever growth there could ever be left after the aircraft Skywest is about to acquire in the next month or so. Best you can hope for is something like ASA has that lets you keep what you currently have and not lose anything in an aircraft transfer.

I hope you are only a minuscule vocal minority of the Skywest group. You are either a troll trying to get a rise out of people or you lack even the slightest amount of foresight.

What song will you be singing if management starts shifting Skywest flying to ASA because you guys want a pay raise someday?

Most pilots at skywest agree with me, just talk to some and ask their opinion of a merger with xjt and sky. 9 out of 10 will tell you they are against it, and based on the last union drive that failed with only a 35% in favor, I doubt that any will change their minds soon.
