I understand you want information from your MEC, but can't emails or a private forum work better? Again why do you want to have your MEC on a public forum when management can view it and use it against us? Doesn't make sense to me.

Are you really the 9E MEC Chair? If so you really should think twice about posting opinions and such on a public message board. It's extremely inappropriate! Unbelievable
You should cut your loss here and not reappear. ALPA Unior Reps have zero business posting on public message boards.

We also have a private union forum where NOBODY is anonymous.. everyone is listed by their actual FULL name. On here pilots can be anonymous without being worried about ruining their name. MGMT views all the forums, even the private one... some pilots are 90% MGMT and share.

people get on here and say "i dont believe you I want to hear it straight from your union." "what does your union have to say about this?" and a regular guy tries to explain it to you and you complain that it is secondhand info. So a union guy gets on here with facts and you complain. Which way do you want it????? I've never seen so many hypocritical knowitalls in one place before! We're not happy till you're not happy!

If you're not a rep you have no business telling our reps what's there to get... especially since your pilot group somehow got the "right" reps that got you guys Lee "scope's for sale" Moak...

Once again we have an entirely different culture on this issue. Just because XJ and Delta do it one way, doesn't mean it's the right way for us. Ironically, I was contacted about picketing support from FDX and ASA reps through this site from reps who were common posters. Our issue was space in MEM. There is NOTHING in bylaws or the PCL Policy manual that mention that we cannot post simply because we are reps. A big MEC issue (about a year ago) was transparency and we have worked very hard to keep things open. It appears the only ones that have issues are NON 9E pilots/posters.

I remember the reps we had before the shake up. I couldn't even point them out to you in a lineup. The first time I met the MEM CA rep was at the LEC when voting to recall him. I'd exchanged e-mails and posts on the company message board with him. I was basically told I was junior, not here long enough and didn't "get it." If they guy had punched me in the mouth in the crew room, I wouldn't have known it was him unless he introduced himself. I could tell from the forum posts that his stance on issues and how he felt did not reflect how I wanted to be represented. Now, not only can I point to my local reps, I know EXACTLY where both of them stand on issues. One of our biggest problems in the past has been lack of communication. It's a problem that has since done a complete 180.
Those saying it was a "vocal minority" that pushed the picketing are, frankly, talking out of their asses.
And for those saying "just because management drug their feet in the past, forget it. It's a whole new ball game now." Well, if you're an antelope, see a lion eat another antelope on the Serengeti, do you sit there and say "Well, maybe he won't eat me. I'm a different antelope." The questions everyone should be asking aren't "How long did it take for you to get the already TA'ed sections wrapped up last time?" it's "How long did it take you to get Sections 3, 25, 27 and the others wrapped up?" Answer: over a year of negotiations AFTER the failed TA, and they're not close. I will be shocked and amazed if those same sections are closed by Christmas.
