Pinnacle/Colgan/Mesaba TA Countdown

After listening to the XJ conference call I learned that our MECs position on furloughs is that since we started these merger negotiations that our merger protections are in effect and there will be no furloughs at XJ for 12 months even if the merger talks fail and the Saabs continue to leave.

you have no clue the work Higney does behind the scenes. He is an asset to this group, in all areas. You may not like the work you think he is involved in in these negotiations, but he does more than trying to get us a new contract. I can honestly say I've had more help/facts from him than any other union member here. I'm guessing you have never picked up a phone and called him for an issue, you'd just rather vent anonymously? He is one of the few on here that speaks facts, not emotion or heresay or what he heard from his sister's boyfriend's cousin's neighbor who is a private pilot. And he is willing to help in other areas (finance, 401k, union rep at BM meetings etc)
Communication is good, but this forum would leave far too much liability on the shoulders of ALPA. If pilots want the truth, call your rep. If pilots want to complain and start rumors, they come here. You cannot control the rumors on this board so limit your liability but not coming on this forum.

They were not intending to furlough. There were no reduction notices published.

They addressed this question specifically, and they even spoke to Spangers about it, their position is no furloughs period, because of our merger protection language.

Back to the subject of a countdown toward a TA, latest negotiating committee update didn't sound too good. 2 out of the 3 days are now complete and NO TA'D SECTIONS. I'm gonna need some new shoes, cause I think we'll be picketing this holiday season

No it didn't sound too good did it. Probably because it was completely realistic that it could be done in three days. I just hope we can all stay unified. If they are close and schedule something within the next week then I will be ok but if they postpone it till after the holidays then there needs to be organized picketing in JFK ewr Iah dtw msp mem and 2 major picketing events in ATL and Ord before Christmas
