For one, you can kiss call in honest goodbye, since it is in your FOM CIH is one revision away from being a thing of the past. For a pilot group that will soon be full of commuters that is not a good thing. Thats just one example, but you do stand to gain from this if you look a little farther than payrates. Obviously its your choice, but you may want to consider the negative aspect of being "on your own" if your group votes this down.
I haven't spoken with everyone obviously, but I have yet to find one person committed to a no.

I'm guessing at least 75% yes at XJ, probably more.

Just keeping our current contract and getting rid of the whipsaw and the ability to bid the entire system would have been a win for XJ.

And we did gain a of couple nuggets beyond what we already had.

What you are talking is a whipsaw and it is something that no pilot group should want to do to another. And as someone pointed out, without this JCBA MSA stands the most likely to get whipsawed. In fact, whipsaw protection is probably your best gain in this contract.

You do not want to play the whipsaw game because the cheapest airline usually "wins".

The thing about the whipsaw game is they take turns on who they make the cheapest.

Let the madness end!

Agreed. Mike Colgan is the "sales rep" for Pinnacle Corp now. His job is basically to go out and source new flying wherever he can find it. The colgan family still owns the rights to certain US Airways routes out of LGA and basically leases them back to Airways. They also own the rights to gates all over the northeast. Don't ask me how it works, but that family has fingers in everything. Pure speculation here, but it wouldn't be a stretch to think he resecured the flying for Mesaba on behalf of pinnacle Corp. I know that on the united side, we have been looking at picking up new routes out of iad to some other eas cities and existing united cities, but we have never had the airframes or manpower. I would bet that mesaba will secure more Saab flying in the near future via mike colgan. He was awarded a boatload of pncl stock when they sold colgan, so it's in his best intrest to secure more flying for mesaba. He needs to buy his wife another 7 series Beamer. Even after they sold the company, the colgans are still making money on us lol

And its no coincidence the LGA flying was announced after a TA was reached.

CJC Q400FO 14.3% to 23.4% Increase, 20.0% Average
CJC SF3CA 10.9% to 17.5% Increase, 14.5% Average
CJC SF3FO 1.9% to 23.4% Increase, 11.8% Average

And these are just the hourly rate changes...You don't even know how to respond to the rules you will get cause you don't see just what you gained.

If you feel that strongly about being wronged don't wait for the general vote. Get all your disgruntled CJC coworkers together talk to your LEC's and they will tell your MEC how you want them to vote, don't let the TA come out for general vote. That's how we do things at XJ. I believe the MEC's need to be unanimous. Heck even if it's 51% I am sure some 9E guys are unhappy too. Follow the steps and the TA might not get to the general vote.

There are some areas where we (XJ) actually lose a little bit.
And we also get an A and B scale, followed by just a B scale. A first for the industry...

But we should just keep quiet because it's better than what we had, right? Didn't Johnny O. beat his pilots into submission with that idea?

don't worry your little heart Mesaba is taking a paycut to get you guys up almost to our par at DOS. Plus after four years the payrates are captured back and raised to 200 standard. Meanwhile we take a concessionary paycut for you. the grandfather rates won't last long.

have your cake and eat it too. shut up and keep chewing.

Again, If you don't like the TA summary tell your rep to vote "NO". This thing doesn't have to get past the MEC's.

I don't like the two rates either especially when I put the numbers into Excel and saw the percentages. There are a lot of XJ people who don't like it either.

You know I wonder what people would say if we were all paid the same rates but all of Mesaba had to take a paycut? 2/3's of the group still benefit (and it could pass). The current TA summary shows significant gains for more than 2/3's of the group. I prefer a slight pay difference and some disgruntled people as opposed to most of us taking a paycut to have everything the same. 2 tiers aren't unprecedented in the industry, maybe at our level but we have similar things. Blended FO rates and dual qualified pilots are just a couple of examples.

These talks couldn't have been an easy process. While not great, the summary shows something I can live with.

I can tell you exactly what they would say. The same handful that preach "unity, team and fairness" on here would be the first to sell XJ down the river with a paycut if it meant higher Q rates for them....

If we let them do it to one carrier, they can do it to all carriers. I'm not comfortable with "it's better than nothing"
