I've gone through this entire thread and tried looking through the other threads about Pincolsaba (Including the actual TA) but couldn't find the answer. What about the furloughed Mesaba pilots? I know Colgan is currently hiring, if this TA is approved, will they have to recall the Mesaba furloughees first or will they keep hiring off the street? I know very little about contract negotiation so I apologized if this is assumed in some other language in the contract. I am just curious (I am not a furloughed Mesaba pilot) because a co-worker is a furloughed Mesaba pilot and I was wondering where it puts him.
Thanks!

To my understanding every MSA furloughed pilot has had the opportunity to take a class date for either PCL or CJC because of the MOU. I do not know if MSA would be recalling because since our lists and operations are seperate there is not a need to recall them yet on the MSA side.

When integration time come around it seems that those that took advantage of the MOU stand a better chance of not getting screwed than those who did not, because of typically what happens to furloughed pilots during integration. Not saying that the MOU guys will be treated diferently but it couldnt hurt.

Seeing that furloughed Mesaba pilots who took jobs at Colgan will retain their Mesaba seniority numbers...will they subsequently receive the grandfathered Mesaba payrates?

Those pilots who retained their MSA pay rates are still considered furloughed pilots and may just end up the same fate as the other furloughed. I am sure they will gladly trade merged seniority numbers with you when it is done and they will gladly give you that grandfathered rate that you lust after (if they even will get it)

According to mgmt, that grandfather rate is tied to the DELAT sf flying. once they are out of that flying the rate does not apply. Even in the case of the new LGA saab flying, which will be under the new rates.

All Mesaba furloughs retain their XJ seniority for integration purposes.

The ones that went to 9E or Colgan will just pick back up to whatever their new seniority will hold after integration.

After integration, if they need to hire anyone, those XJ pilots that did not go to 9E or Colgan will be recalled before anyone is hired off the street and they will go into the list at their merged seniority, whatever it may be.

The way I understand it, no.

Only those flying Saabs for XJ at the time the TA is ratified will get those rates.

I don't think that's true about LGA, XJ will have Saab pilots that would go backwards if that was the case.

The way I understand it they will retain their grandfathered status as long as they stay in the same seat and Saab.

The funny thing is that there are some people who are upset that those JFK SF3 pilots will be paid the grandfathered rate but do not realize the fact that MSA acquiring that flying is a great deal for all of us. Displaced CA's from a Saab only take upgrades away from FO's who want them. More flying is a great thing!!

Exactly, that's 7 more airframes to add to the mix we weren't counting earlier this month.

Put another way, that's 35 more captain positions added to the new Pinnacle.
