Pinnacle, Mesaba, Colgan TA

Great 401k? Really? 0-6 years 1.5% match, right now at 9E we get 1.25%. I was hoping for 5%+, oh well I guess I have to wait until I get over 6 years.

Nobody is going backwards?! Would the 9E pilots sign off on that??? Don't take it the wrong way, Bartok, I'm not mad at you...the Colgan guys are getting ****ed on at this time and being told that it's raining. What it boils down to is that we don't hold enough votes to make a difference. Our MEC will sign off on this TA, and XJ/9E pilots will do the voting for us.
We'll be left with the same crap pay, and no upgrades. VERY disappointed with the JNC...

And that's before we even talk about the fact that it doesn't vest for 5 years.... so if you leave before five years the company match is.... 0%.
A previous airline of mine offered 1.5% defined contribution... meaning you got it without putting in anything... and THEN they matched.
Mesaba's 401k is 1000% better than colgan's since they had 0% match, but it's not hugely better than Pinnacle's and it certainly isn't "industry leading" It's just ok.

From a 9E perspective, this TA will pass. Comparing many of the work rules and soft pay, this is much better than TA1. You also have to remember the most important thing about this CBA, scope. This will lock in protections that will hold corp responsible for protecting our future. Now SLI, that will be the real challenge.

There is a lot of talk about the pay rates, but no one has mentioned insurance. I know in our crew room it has been a hot topic. Does this new insurance plan nix the pay raise for 9E guys with families? I don't know how Mesaba and Colgan plans were, but for 9E this is pretty significant, no?
we still see a decent net gain even with the new family insurance. If we didn't our neg comittee would not have accepted this TA. And the insurance cost is still on par with the rest of corporate America, if not still slightly below cost.

I knew it was going to go up and I really had nothing to compare the new plan to, but talking to other guys in other industries it still seemed like an ok deal. I think guys got used to paying 30 bucks a month for everything (single). Do we keep our current plan through 2011? This would stand to reason since we've already signed up and agreed to rates for 2011.

Colgan guys are getting a huge boost in work rule protections, and they're saying... "but some Mesaba guys are gonna get paid more to fly the saab for awhile"....
Well lets say we all reject this deal... the Mesaba guys still have 90% of this stuff AND the better pay and the Colgan guys have almost nothing... Kinda sounds like cutting off your nose to spite your face to me...
I'm betting if the negotiating committee COULD have gotten Mesaba SAAB rates for everyone they WOULD have... so I take this as a signal they couldn't get them and didn't want to give XJ guys a paycut.
