Have read a lot of comments but gave up reading all of them in the 3 different threads about this TA. From what i read it seams like people are saying dont worry about what 9l guys thinks because we can pass it with out them and but most will take it anyways because if the huge pay increases. I am wondering what about us Mesaba guys. Are we all assuming that XJ pilots will just accept this because we are loosing our Saabs? For me I am going to see 30 a month decrease in insurance but an increase in max out of pocket and a slight decrease in deductible. I will see a very minor pay increase. I am thinking when this SLI comes out I will have a large portion of the 9L 3-4 year guys ahead because they are already captains or close to it. So i am gaining very little to allow a bunch ahead of me. (Other then their aircraft) As we have just seen PNCL Corp just got flying for 9 of our saabs. So does this mean they will keep trying to find flying for xj even if we dont combine the 3 companies? My thoughts after seeing this is that if we vote this down they are still going to find flying for XJ even if we cost more then 9l could that mean that they would just shift 9l flying to xj and come up with a CBA for just 9e and XJ and sjut down 9l ad give those planes to XJ. Not sure if they could do it this way but maybe XJ is not a sure yes vote on this. It would be very ugly if we did it this way and i hope we dont come to something like that. (disclaimer did not have to to proof read what i just wrote the baby is crying)
No one knows how the SLI will go down yet and the method they will use. I think this TA will pass but we will cross that bridge when we come to it.

So why should an FO or junior CA who has been here the whole time get less than the 10 year CA who will use W2 with the factor and get much more? Like I said earlier, it doesn't matter because this ship has sailed and this TA is not worth losing over the greed at the top of our list. We are the only carrier to use this type of method of bonus distribution in the near past... I think there is a reason for that.
Give the Memphis Mafia each 100,000 dollars on three conditions:
1. They drop the lawsuit.
2. They quit failing the hell out of people.
3. Pink Slip stops wearing that ridiculous tie!
Everyone else gets 10,000 and reaps the benefits of the above three conditions!!!
Sound like a deal? Higney can we draft an loa?

Joking aside....here's the reality, what's done is done. Why even discus the distribution method when you can't change it?
Guys, we got a good TA with some great payrates. Just think, when we are riding in first class on a 3 and a half hour deadhead at 75% pay, you won't even be thinking about this. It will be a blurry memory.

Here's a solution:
Give the Memphis Mafia each 100,000 dollars on three conditions:
1. They drop the lawsuit.
2. They quit failing the hell out of people.
3. Pink Slip stops wearing that ridiculous tie!
Everyone else gets 10,000 and reaps the benefits of the above three conditions!!!

For every 2 year guy that thinks that way, there's a 10 year guy that thinks they deserve more than the rest that have been here since the contract became amendable. If we had never even SEEN the W2 method, I don't think there would be a fight. Now that some super senior guys have seen what they WOULD have gotten, they're angry they won't be getting that anymore. I honestly think that "time since amendable" is fair for everyone. However, the MEC had to put something in there about the W2 method to keep from having the whole thing shot down by the other end of the seniority list. I got here about a year and a half after the contract was amendable, but I don't think I should get more than someone that came in a year or 6 months before I did. However, I don't think someone who's been here since 2000-2001 should get more than someone who's been here since the day after the 99 agreement became amendable.
Months since ammendable date. Plain and simple. If that was the case then there would be no fighting. The guys that has been here 2 years would get 24 months. The guy that has been here since May '05 would get whatever that is... There's no other way fair about it. The 10 year guy would still get more than the 2 year guy except there would be no fight. I keep asking this though, those that have been here for 10+ years, what have you lost compared to the guy who has been an FO since it was ammendable? Its hard for me to side with the guys who support the W2 because I see it as nothing more than greed. Thats it. If the Union wanted to do it the fair way it would have been months of service no questions asked. I dont know our number one through whatever, but I can come up with an educated guess that they've been doing just fine since May '05. This W2 method does nothing but hurt the guys thats already been hurt. Its like any business, it takes money to make money. The W2 says, "Hey you made more money so you get more bonus, but you made less money so you get less." Anyone that can put up a good fight for the W2 then bring it. Its just really depressing to see the guy thats been making 80 90 100 thousand get more then the guy thats barely cleared 30 in 5 years. Its so backwards it makes me sick.
To clear up that last statement, the guys making the 80 90 100 thousand should get more money if they've been here long than the other. Thats it. If they have more months of service then by all means they deserve more. We have guys here on food stamps and going through foreclosures that could really use the money to get back above water. Its sad that the money will be going towards cars, pools, and other luxuries while other guys are fighting to keep their house and put food on the table. I guess thats the way it goes though, life ain't fair. There was a chance to right some wrongs and really take care of some guys who needed the help but that was blown, for greed. Disgusting
