If there are position vacancies and position reductions, then all position vacancies (both posted and resultant) will be awarded first in seniority order, then, if any position reductions are still indicated, they will be awarded in inverse order of seniority (both posted and resultant).

Ya I just checked it out in sect 24. So they gotta open the 56 spots to all bidders and let senority sort it out. Assuming they get 56 guys to bid up there, where do the reductions on the 200 go? Where ever the 56 guys left from I guess?

While the vacancy bid is open will they have transparency as to who is bidding there? Im in the bottom 15% of the company and I don't feel like losing relative seniority transferring. Even a sliver of movement as far as seniority and I'd bid it in a heartbeat.

The Standing Bid List in the "Cremember" menu on ourASA oughta give a rough idea, and the company usually starts to send out daily projected awards towards the end of the bid period.

I believe the company does not do the projected awards anymore for vacancy bids because too many ahole senior people were treating it as an eBay auction and holding their bid until the last few minutes. I think the Union was ok with pulling projected awards as well. Now its a "Bid what you want to fly!" philosophy and check the standing bid to get a general idea of where you will be.

It's not...and they're smoking more crack now than they ever have. This place is going to nuts come May and June...

That said, two new hire classes are on deck as well, expect most of those poor lost souls to go to DTW. Not too many folks I know on the -200 in Atlanta are willing to 1) make a commute, to 2) Detroit, just to 3) fly the 700/900 for a small increase in pay. Even with poor pairings in March and April. Summer will be a different solution for Lineholding FOs on the 200 in Atlanta. Further movement can also be expected as the year moves forward (retirements, attrition), so the suck - won't suck - for too long in Atlanta.

However, what NEXT year looks like...who knows...

Many of us just want some movement of some sort, to stay on our aircraft, and to stay in our current domicile. Which I don't think it'll be that hard to achieve considering only 56 crews for now and hiring on the horizon. DTW will no doubt go junior on the FO side.

You all are assuming our level of -200 flying will stay the same. At their last earnings call, Delta announced a large reduction in 50 seat flying. Possibly as much as 100 airframes. It will probably be a mix of all DCI RJs, but I would not assume our 200 fleet will stay the same size between now and the summer.

Good point. I'm not sure on the specifics of that, or when our 50 seat agreements come due. However I would not assume that our 200 fleet would change. If it doesn't it's going to be a LONG summer..... ASA usually gets the staffing spot on (sarcasm).
