Thats life and aviation is full of disappointments. And if you were a 2008 hire and awarded those seats, you wouldnt be complaining about either. It is, what it is. Once you accept that, it won't be that hard to swallow.

This isn't Colgan, Mesaba or Pinnacle's fault. It's just the way things panned out. If we were stapled, it would've sucked but I would've just accepted it. If I were really upset, I would just leave. Thats the best thing about this whole scenario. You're not bound to stay here if you're that peeved about it.

I've got a strange feeling that if you would've gotten the staple you'd be b!tching and moaning about it in this same forum...

Cheap demagogy.

I bet you wouldn't be "" if you were in their shoes...
So guys hired at Pinnacle pre-purchase are giving up seats to guys hired at Colgan post-purchase?

A few things here...

1) Instead of making it REALLY messy, the CJC Pilots could have stayed nonunion and the growth would have been funneled our way anyway and y'all would have been whipsawed against us making it really really really ugly. But we stood up for what was wrong; many of us were threatened by management goons for organizing, and worked to raise the bar.

2) We were in our own contract talks and were going to make gains regardless. Yes we did benefit from the Mesaba contract, as the PCL Pilots, but we also brought something to the table as did the PCL Pilots and the MSA Pilots.

3) From my understanding, those that were displaced out of the CRJ-200 Captain seat COULD have remained a Captain at the company if their pref bids had Q400 Captain in EWR. But a lot of those who were displaced didn't have that on their bid. Once again, not the CJC Pilots problem. If that wasn't communicated to the PCL Pilots to bid everything 'just in case', not the CJC Pilots problem.

4) The CJC Pilots didn't elect the PCL or MSA Merger Committees, your respective MECs did. If you feel like you have been screwed by the Bloch awards, bring it up to your respective merger committee.

5) I look forward to working with y'all in the future, delivering a superior product for our code share partners, and beating the **** out of our competition for these RFPs so we have more growth for the PCL Corp.

Does anybody know what the current equipment locks are and if the company waived them for this award?

What did colgan bring to the table? Not the Q400, Pinnacle pilots low wages over the last 6 years bought them. Colgan joined the group with an airline loosing money; even today they are dragging the company down.

You make it sound so simple...why didn't the PCL Merger Committee make this case to Bloch? If Colgan did bring nothing to "the table," why didn't the PCL Merger Committee hammer that home to Bloch, over and over again?

Sounds like the murder suspect was caught with the gun in their hand, standing in a pool of the victim's blood and the Prosecutor says "I dont know what evidence we have to present to the judge and jury."

If this is such a easy open and shut case, why didn't it? Must be the Colgan pilot's fault....right???

I can't believe the notion that a federal arbitrator wanted to punish even the most arrogant few SLI negotiators at PCL by punishing the entire pilot group. I honestly believe he did not see this outcome.
