Oh come on now, we all know that nobody is going into the regionals...for a long time.

As far as a great starter, both the ERJ and CRJ were designed for low time pilots. So you can't go wrong either way. I find that the ERJ was a lot more fun to fly because the wing is a little more efficient, I think, than the CRJ. It was very maneuverable. For example, you can land an ERJ with just two flap settings vs the 4 to 5 on the CRJ. The CRJ however has a better EFIS system, a little more practical than the ERJs although anything the CRJ can do the ERJ can as well. Plus the ERJ does not have a set standard FMS like the CRJ does which was very annoying having to learn the different boxes. As far as the systems are basically the same, they were designed for low time pilots so there's nothing really to do other than to place switches in the auto position.
Uh? I believe the CRJ design came from the Challenger, which was not designed for "low time pilots". The only difference between a Challenger 850 and a CRJ 200 is about $100K less per pilot, per year.
(Same goes for the Legacy 600 and ERJ145)

Whatever, the embraer yokes are the best, makes me feel like I'm on a waverunner.

That's a joke, right?

LOL
And every time I see an ERJ on final I think it's going to stall.

I'm curious, where are you getting your information from, and where did you fly the airplane at?

Fairchild and PW FINALLY got together and did the reduced thrust data.

You should have rephrased this, something more like this;

CRJ/ERJ/FRJ being flown at "regionals", dumb idea. You might be able to exclude the FRJ though. It was NEVER meant as a "replacement" jet. It was meant to replace the SAAB, 120, -8, J41, etc. Could operate out of the same runways without a payload penalty and offered the scared passengers the silly "security" of not having propellor that were going to fly off and kill them.

Those yokes are the best. You actually have to get used to them to appreciate them.
