PS I heard PQI was am awesome base, good flying

Yeah, I can't say much here because I live here in the NE and I can say that I would jump at PQI if ever hired. That is pretty good flying time between PQI-BOS. Probably is one of the longer flight legs you can get other than repositioning flights.

When I was in initial groundschool I asked a Beech captain who was upgrading to the Saab, "What's it really like here at Colgan?". His answer has proven to be true so far. He said, "It's great about 95% of the time, the other 5% can suck". Most of the time, you will complete your day with absolutely no problems. Occasionally, there will be days when the plane breaks, and you will have to wait around the airport for a couple of hours till another crew brings a different airplane. Or you may get deadheaded to a working plane. Things like that do happen. But that's life. Those kinds of things will mess up your day at any job in any industry. For example, you may spend all day writing a proposal for your boss, only to find out that the project was cancelled and nobody bothered to tell you.
The truth is, your satisfaction with any job has much to do with your expectations. If you expect to be treated like a golden boy and get first class treatment, all the while being surrounded by beautiful flight attendants, you should probably seek out another profession. If you are looking to learn from good people and gain valuable experience flying in real weather(not above it), you will enjoy Colgan. Actually, we do have some cute FA's.
Obviously, everyone's experience will be different. So far, mine has been positive. BTW, you should take into account everyone's perspective on these forums and realize that we don't all have the same goals, so attitudes about one company or another may vary greatly.

Tebpilot,
There is a Colgan captain at my home airport that seems a lot like you. He's been there awhile, has a family and lives nearby, has a good schedule and seems content with what he's doing (sim instructor in LGA as well). It all just depends on what we want to do the most and what out experiences are like.
