What base can a new hire expect? I have a great payin job, but dont like what i am doing. I have been "trapped by the money". I would go if i could get mia or dfw. Is that a possibility?

Yes.. as long as you get Embraer and not CRJ.

Default Eagle increases signing bonus to $10k

It's a good way to get pilots to leave from other airlines like Lakes or Silver.

Agreed...without a fleet plan no bonus is really enough to have me look at Eagle unless I lose my current job and base with all the uncertainty about the regionals. Hey flysooner...any more rumors about the fate of the NYC base. Had your NYC chief on the JS a month ago and he hinted at bad news for the NY base coming. The USAir merger may have changed things though.

I don't see the NY base going anywhere anytime soon. Latest word on the street is we're not going to be parking EMB's nearly as fast as planned before. Could see a lot of upgrades happening soon because of this.

Also the 10k bonus appears to be NOT true... For now.

With taxes the way they are, your looking at close to 5k after Uncle Sam takes his portion anyway. 10k is momentary. Im looking forward to watching what new carrot they have to dangle in the coming months.

Not really. More will be withheld initially, but your tax burden will be lower at the end of the year.

CFI used to be the main road to the regionals but now there are not many students to instruct. Just my 2 cents.
I've got a ATP multi, but with very low airplane hours. There are qualified people, per the new regulation, but they won't look at some of us for other flight time reasons.

Doesn't Eagle have a union? Can't that union say "no bonus thank you, attract new hires with the wage package you negotitated or negotiate a new one"
