I may not agree with his posts, but id say he's in a better position than you are.
You don't know me or Ernst.. But you assume he is doing better than me, why? Because he flies a bigger airplane or works at JB?? Seems like you answered you own question from a few post ago inquiring why I don't want to work at JB, VA, NK. Do you need a 777 type to feel like a man? Or do I not like flying domestic? You were being passive aggressive in your first post then contradicting in this post...

Not even close, I said that because JetBlue is a better company and has a brighter future than any US Regional period.

Unless one desires to become an expat, an FO is still an FO, type or not.

I'd say the quality of training matters most. Done in house vs. farmed out. The experience level of the ground instructors ( time in type) and line instructors is what matters most.
Of course it doesn't matter! JetBlue seems to be doing fine and will be around for a while. It only matters if your airline is going belly up and you are applying for A320 gigs in the Middle East and China, they want a FULL PIC A320 type rating. Other than that, I don't suppose it matters.

And do you not think DL/UAL/AA are better companies than JB/NK/VA with brighter futures? Since its not required for me to go to JB,va,Nk to get to DL, and because i was fortunate to upgrade at 9E, I'd like my next move to be my final. I do get what your saying, and we can keep going around and around, but we're pilots, we think every other pilot should have done it the way we did ..

I could care less where anyone works, I'm just basing this off observations and talk amongst my peers of my age group. But for many of the "lifers," they want the next step in this industry to be their last step. They then go to a job fair and see dozens of VA, JB and Spirit guys lined up at the DL, US and FDX booth, but no FDX, DL or US pilots in line at the VA, JB, or Spirit booths and you just have to wonder....why are they leaving? stepping stone? Just have to get out of a "regional?" I'm done playing hopscotch." Me personally, since I have to commute now most likely anyways in the near future, on a maxed out crap contract, I'd have no problem going to them, but it's just a guess from what I've heard.
You are clueless .
Legacy carriers haven't hired the past four-five years, United has just started calling off the street. I know a few of the recent new hires at these "majors". Most had 0 TPIC time, no degree, or looked like absolute slobs, where if they had only 3 coffee stains on their uniform shirt, that's was considered clean. Hardly cream of the crop. Not all of us RrrrrrrrJ guys got into aviation to work for companies like JB, Nk, or VA.
And several of us (and growing) "RJ Guys" didn't choose to work for the regional we work for now.... but it's not exactly been pick your interview lately at the "better than regionals" much less top level majors.

Lots of aviators coming out of the military branches who totally trump your existance. Reality hits you hard bro.

Hmmmmm.......I bet you guys are the regional scumbags who wear backpacks to work, aren't you!

Reality is that each major airline who is hiring has thousands of resumes to sort from. Sure, we all know the 0 Total PIC guy without a college degree who slipped through the system. But those guys are few and far between.

The VAST majority of professional aviators landing jobs at "destination airlines" are well groomed, educated, experienced, and these attributes make their resume rise to stack "A".

Keep on dreaming if you're a backpack wearing regional FO who has one bullet point: "RJ First Officer".
Nothing like it used to be, and the ones I know want nothing to do with the civilian airline world.

Because beggars cant be choosers. Others aren't going from 260 planes down to 81. How many Comair guys regret holding out for AA/DAL/UAL?

Believe me, I hear ya when you say you want your next move to be final out of a regional. Everyone does! But you have to look at the reality of the situation too.
