Ok, it's time. I started this topic because I was concerned about cabotage, nothing more (for anyone who sees nothing but undertones of racism or SJS here). My questions have been answered, my concerns are at ease, and I'm a little more educated. I knew I'd be chastised for posting something like this, but didn't think that being a CFI would have anything to do with it. Not all of us are born knowing every in and out about this industry. What's wrong with asking about it?

Not really new...I joined when I was 17 (hence the absurdity of my username), before I logged a single flight hour. A fair number of us - Americans - are working in UAE, Saudi, China, etc., where the companies have sponsored visas.
So, why is it OK for us to work anywhere in the world, but not for 'them' to work here?
