Regional pilots are slobs.
It's bad out there at times ,,, regional guys that look like crap kill me .... It's a flat out disgrace to our profession and those of us trying to maintain a professional look we once had from the public. Not that I think Delta's nazisim is the way to go either ... ( somewhere in between maybe)
Although I will be the first to admit its not just regional .... Mostly yes but if have seen plenty of mainline guys .... Walk through CLT and you see these 98 year old captains walking through with the same clothes from when they were a new hire with VELCRO black shoes on !!!! Come on man . Are you that old that you can tie shoe laces !?!?

The biggest offenders I actually see are the younger to middle aged 4-stripers. They have he back packs (but I'm an FFDO!), no ties (or half tied tie), ear buds (or worse... Beats headphones), and a shirt that looked like the rolled it up in a ball and drove over it with a steam roller.
I've seen some wrinkled shirts and whatnot, but who the hell can get away with not wearing a tie?!?! Even at the non-uniform-nazi airlines I'm pretty sure you'd get in trouble for that.

I bring home about $1600 a month. I wish I cared more but I just can't. Wearing pants to work at all nowadays is a challenge.

I say this not to come across as a racist or seem discriminatory, but something that really bothers me with regards to professionalism is the misuse and pronunciation of the English language. I know quite a few pilots, working at the regionals, who I sometimes have had a difficult time communicating with and understanding in just basic conversation. I respect those who are naturalized or legal to work here, but it just doesn't sound good on the radio when you have a guy who cannot be understood or create basic sentences easily.
Same thing goes for those with very heavy backwoods country/hillbilly accents. It's just not professional and makes you sound like you don't really know what you are talking about, even if you do.

If I heard the story right, the woman in his avatar was a former Expressjet first officer. The picture was taken while she was jumpseating to/from work. Apparently she and the flight crew for that flight were fired for the incident.
But damnit if she doesn't have the hottest back I've ever seen
