If you spend an hour a week away from home, when you're maybe home 2 days a week, instead of raising your kids and investing in your wife, then maybe you suck as a father, husband and man.

I guess you didn't realize we're not all 20 somethings still living at home getting mom to do our laundry. I guess when that's all you've lived, that's all you know.

How about finding a volunteering activity you can all do together? My family's served meals at soup kitchens before. Easy to do as a group. It's good role modeling too......

Very true. I'm certainly not against volunteering. My wife and I work in our churches nursery for no benefit. We help because our kids are in other classes and it's the right thing to do. Not because I need/want to pad my resume. However, I'll look into more when #3 is born and my kids are old enough to not be a problem. OR we can quit justifying a completely pointless metric to measure our ability to safely and professionally fly an aircraft.

They are trying to find some cross over point so they can't adequately evaluate us as potential employees. Too bad I'm not trying to get a food bank delivery job, be a big brother or a church nursery job. I'm trying to be pilot.
Actually, a person who volunteers their time for others generally have empathy for others. One of the qualities that make up the kind of employee that most companies want. You know the kind of person that you want to do a four day with............... They are trying to weed out the me,me me people who constantly complain and know more about running an airline than anyone actually doing it. Food for thought.......................... I think it would be really useful to an airline HR Department. There is a hell of a lot more to being a professional pilot than how you fly the airplane.

You can keep your food, I served the entire US and some foreign countries, and no there isn't. In an organization with more than 1200 people, maybe I don't know say 15000+, your chances of seeing the same face twice are pretty thin. Airlines magically worked before all the feel good bs. It's work. I can hold a conversation for a few hours a day for 4 days. After that, I'm not going to spend a second thinking about you. You have a little pond mentality.

I can also see you have attachment issues.

Me, me, me and sour grapes. I'm sure you will do well. Maybe the flow is right for you, another interview might weed you out......... LOL Little pond mentality? LOL Airlines worked before? Yes they did but they work better now. How many people have died because of personality conflicts in the cockpit? Me, me, me people turn other people off and can shut communication down making for an unsafe cockpit. You probably can't see that because of your me, me, me syndrome. I'll bet you know more than all the Captains you have flown with............

I thank you for your service to our country, I too have served. Serving someone less fortunate than you is in a completely different class. Giving your time for free is not the same as being paid to fulfill a life long dream of flying airplanes.

Yup I signed up for a life you couldn't handle on your best day. I'm all about me. Your insights are so amazing, Ms. Chloe.

Get a life little buddy your fixation is certifiable. You were smart enough to back down in the last thread when you couldn't back up your big talk. I suggest you do the same here. I'm sorry I shattered your fantasy by pointing out you hitched your life to a broken company. I'm sorry you can't see passed your own wishes and dreams in order to keep a pragmatic eye on what's actually happening at our growing but shrinking airline. I'm sorry I've made different decisions than you that have served me better. I'm sorry I have options you don't. Is that enough empathy for you or do you still need your pacifier?

I'm starting to think that you're not that old and that you were raised with participation trophies. You obviously are a valuable and safe employee with your vast experience, knowledge and volunteerism. I'm surprised a major hasn't gobbled you up. Maybe it was those pesky interviews you couldn't get through. I appreciate your lessons as you can learn from the failures of others. Good thing you have that 20 year flow you're depending on. The company loves you too because you're the concessionary voter they are looking for.

Little buddy? LOL I'm not little anymore and I'm at the very end of my career. I choose to see positive and be positive. I'm sorry you need to lash out. All I did was point out why airlines and for that matter all companies want people who care about their fellow man. They make better employees. Don't think you can argue that.
I'd be happy to discuss anything you like face to face then you wouldn't have to jump to erroneous conclusions.

I've been through airlines closing and BK too. The quality of life here is so much better than it used to be I'm thrilled. I wonder, why did you come here? This airline has grown 100% in two years yet you complain. There are 50 more coming and you complain. It isn't happening on your time table? I forgot....Me, me, me
