Uh, because pilots aren't itinerant fruit pickers. They just don't appear ready to do a job during the busy season, then go away. I guess as pilots we would think managing an airline in terms of planning, timing and coordination.

Unfortunately for us, airline managers only think in terms of the bottom line. As long as they can get butts in the seats while paying rock bottom wages, they will. Labor is the easiest airline cost to control.

Take a look in the mirror, Fellas. As long as pilots are willing to sell their services for poverty level wages, don't expect anything to change.
