Why are pilots so against retention bonuses and signing bonuses? Ultimately, if it makes up part of your compensation, it seems like a good thing to me.

The only ones complaining are some of the ones (and usual naysayers) who already left or never did work here.

Well I can see what they are saying. It would be better if it was just in our hour rate. However when you are not even in negotiations and you have cash thrown at you and gave up nothing to get it you say thanks and move along. Yes in the past we gave up a lot but that is not part of this. This is a step in the right direction and will hopefully make other airlines raise the bar to attract our FO's.

Other airlines don't have to raise the bar for FOs. PSA and Compass have no problems filling their newhire classes. Let's face it, most pilots want a quick upgrade at a regional. Basically, what 9E was until end of 2006. People want to come in, get the upgrade for the live able wage and TPIC time and move on. Until Endeavor can offer that, they will be left in the dust created by PSA, TSA, and Compass jackrabbit launch at the start line.

Default Reminder for the mainline interview...

This is slightly off topic, and I only say this to hopefully help those (FO's or CA's) who will interview at a major at some point. Though I haven't read all of the posts in this thread, I have read enough to just want to point out that when referring to FO's or CA's use the pronouns "He or She." I really am not trying to nit pick but it's always good to start being aware of these things so that when one does interview for a major (or any job nowadays really), it will come out naturally and it will only help.
P.S. I am a male.

I misread the thread, this is the "hmmm, how can I b**ch and complain about my situation and make my bad situation everyone else's problem" thread. Not the "why not try to throw in a tid bit of information that might actually help someone" thread.

No you read the thread correctly. Its about retention bonuses at endeavor. Not long winded diatribes about politically correct pronoun useage.

Thank you for setting me straight. I agree, I shouldn't try to help. I'm sorry.
