Exactly. In terms of helping senior FOs upgrade here, I don't see this being beneficial at all.

If we buy Silver their pilots (and whoever we hire more than likely) will be doing the flying they've always been doing with the Saab and B1900.

Also I would have an extremely tough time wanting to upgrade on that equipment based on the current rates. I would only make an extra $6 yr 3 as a CA. I think the B1900 pays the same as my FO rate right now... Yeah, no thanks

I find it almost sad how one post that suggests we MAY POSSIBLY be looking for turbo prop pilots turns into a deep conversation about our future with silver airlines and a takeover from a post off a website ive never heard of. If you look on the post for pilots in general for the company it still has the usual boring requirements. I honestly still believe we got ourselves into a Monday morning wild goose chase. Why would our smart owners buy such an airline? Do you think American would be happy we decided to add props to our aging fleet? Huge middle finger to Parker if you ask me

How else are we supposed to entertain ourselves during 3hr CLT sits? Come on now

I hear ya. No one knows anything, but if they are running open interviews in FL it is odd. I know we had interviews in CVG just before the Delta deal fell apart. They normally don't do these except our bases.

As for ****ing off AA, this wouldn't impede in our RJ op at all. It's apples to Oranges. Now if we started taking 200 guys to staff it then possibly, but I doubt that would happen.

Finally, as for the why, I've been under the impression that Silver has been **** poorly managed and run for a vast number of years. Our owners are smart and seem to know how to run airlines that do well. If the price is right that could very well be what is happening.

While it would be good for the company to grow, I don't see it being all that exciting for us 200 FOs in terms of movement. We need additional RJs like a Delta kinda deal.

It would be great for Silver guys though. They pay and benefits will be tremendous over the crap sand which they have had to deal with.

tampa is a silver base, most likely its just a good option to recruit pilots there since their attrition is already high. I don't think you're taking over their flying, but probably just looking for easy pilots

That was my first thought... Not AWAC buying Silver, but AWAC trying to attract pilots from a likely soon to be defunct airline.

Why, if awac was buying silver, would they be recruiting their pilots? Where is the logic in that? Some wiz in Appleton figured they'd go after some low hanging fruit down in Florida.

Interesting that the best regional with the best Wages and Best Contract has to go to TPA to recruit TurboProp Pilots. I'm shocked!!

Shut up troll. Why don't you try contributing to this board in a meaningful way rather than getting on here just to stir up sh-t. You're not funny. Youre just a tool. Make this community a better place.
