Anything New At AWAC?

They got washed out is probably because their instructors suck at teaching the sim...I am prior 121 and thought their training program was cramming too many things into 8 sim and instructors don't know to run the sim efficiently to get all the boxes checked for that sim session...
One analogy I can give you is like this: back in primary training, you had your pick of instructors. Your CFI will sit right seat but his mind is wondering if Awac/Skywest/etc has looked at his app, we all know you wont get good training out of this guy. Now you have 2 fresh CFI sitting up front of a CRJ sim with a douch in the back who is supposed to be teaching and running the sim but his mind is wondering "why hasn't Delta/United/AA called me?" And probably bitter about how some people he deems less qualified than him getting calls. With the same reasoning, those 2 new hires wont get good training except now they don't get to pick their instructors, 121 failure record will follow them around..etc

From my experience what I understand is the company is willing to give extra CPT sessions, and extra Sim time to those who need it. Some new hires over the summer were given up to 20 Sim sessions before the checkride, and up to five trips of OE. If you show up as prepared as you can be, and be up front and honest with the instructors you will be fine.
As for the instructors... you're going to find that anywhere. But I have yet to experience an instructor who wasn't professional and fair.
Again, just my opinion based on my experience and talking to new FOs.

From what I have been reading, this is one of the best regional to work for but probably the most uncertain.
Probably worth a shot, they are all uncertain anyways!

What happens when you come in prepared and your partner isn't? You get dragged/slowed down and boxes are not checked and result is extra sim

Not my experience!! It seems to me that anyone can become an instructor at awac! Some CPT instructors will pass a dumb rock off to sim! Some people needed to be spoonfed like a baby, and like a baby, they threw the food back at you! I have seen people who don't know where all the buttons are at sim 4!!!! Now tell me, how can someone like that passed CPT and onto full motion sim to begin with!?

It wasn't meant to be an attack on you. Just when you refer to all the instructors as "douches" I was just curious where all the anger came from. I do agree that some of the instructors should not be instructors at AWAC. Some maybe because they've done it too long and don't know what flying the line is like and other because they aren't consistsnt in their training. That being said I have also encountered some very good instructors at AWAC some who have moved on and some who are still here.

If this is your first regional and you're already this bitter, then you're in for a lot of disappointment. Our instructors are top notch and liable for each student they send through.
If you show up for the sim and you don't have your systems, procedures/callouts, and most of all instrument skills polished then you're gonna have a bad time. Its not the instructors fault you're not prepared. This isn't high school.
