looking at the big picture it makes sense. SkyWest has almost $600 million in cash. And at current RAH stock price. SkyWest can get them cheap.
Seriously doubt it. They bought Legacy ExpressJet in 2010 and have probably lost almost as much money as they have in the bank. Don't think Inc will do it again, but never say never.

There's a lot more to it than stock price. Rjet enterprise value is currently $2.36B. EV is a good takeover starting point for mergers and acquisitions. EV = market value of common stock + market value of preferred equity + market value of debt + minority interest - cash and investments.

Did you guys get deadhead pay improvements in the new contract? How long can a new hire expect to be on reserve, is CMH a hard base to get?

Deadhead pay is still 75% but if the DH overblocks by 15 minutes, you get paid actual block which is a major improvement. Depending on your base, reserve can be pretty much non existent. CMH should be very easy to get. PM me if you have any more questions.

I would be careful what you consider undesirable.
Not sure why anyone would want to spend a career as a regional captain. I think many of the lifers have figured this out, and are moving on to greener pastures. Unfortunately some just aren't good enough to go to a legacy (or even Allegiant), so they will continue to be a regional lifer. Republic has had 20+ year captains leave, and yes they were over 45 years old.

We've got a few who don't have a 4 yr degree. They have a decent QOL and live in a base where no other airline operates (SDF, IND, CMH) so are content staying for now. I think it's a poor decision as B6, NK and a few others don't require a degree and long term income vastly exceeds what they'll make at RAH. But I'm not gonna convince anyone to leave...less competition for me.

Seeing lots of cancellations today...(over 60) any reasoning for it?

On a side note, how long will it take to hold MIA?

Apparently republic is going after signing bonuses for people that left before 2 years. I left at 13 months, hired in August of 14. Just recently got a letter asking for part of signing bonus back. Anyone else encounter that or know anyone else?

I had a paid ticket today, direct flight phl-mci @1330 on republics 170. Got a call at midnight, flight was cancelled, rebooked on a 5am flight connecting in chicago. Rough morning.
