I knew there was a chance it could decrease which it did in the short term, but there was also the possibility of a quick rise. In any event, I was 100% sure it would pass and either way I would (should) make a few bucks off of it (sooner or later).

DCA is a YX 170 base. You only get benefits for what you support. Therefore, you're eligible for AA benefits (which are pretty bad, honestly). You will not get Delta. You can get UAL benefits but pay the non-supporting rate, which is $200 for you and an additional $200 for each person enrolled, plus segment fees. UAL is not worth it unless you're based somewhere that supports the operation and get it cheaper. Just jumpseat on them for free.

Yikes! They've still got a tough road ahead of them, but congrats to the pilot group!

'Bedford has been pushing for increased pilot pay since the 2009 Colgan accident in Buffalo, NY, which changed the industry labor dynamics dramatically in many ways including forcing the regulatory changes cited above. The public was shocked to learn that starting pilot pay at regional airlines was in the low $20,000 per year. Since then, the industry has been raising pilot pay across the board and has achieved a great deal. But the stubbornness of Republic’s pilots in rejecting one industry-leading deal after another left most in the industry, shaking their heads in disbelief.'
I realize most reporters don't have a clue, but come on, really???
