This has been going on for over a year. Every day they have tons of CXL's my guess is due to staffing. This is terrible for paying customers as well as commuters trying to make it home. Here's to hoping your new contract fixes that. I have doubts it will. Best of luck

In my opinion, I don't think a new contract does much for new hires. It may keep people already there from jumping ship, but the amount of new hires needed by republic simply do not exist in any training pipeline. I think there may be a short uptick in hiring, but overall Republic and every other contract airline is poised for shrinking.... which is a good thing.

But I'm not gonna convince anyone to leave...less competition for me.
Southwest doesn't require a 4 year degree either. I know 6 guys off the top of my head who were hired without one. This was over 15 years ago but I believe hiring standards will be loosening up very soon. The 737 type requirement is gone and I predict the 1,000 TPIC requirement will be history soon as well.

XJT-'East' has what, 2,000 pilots that are slowly being bled out? My last few times up front on PSA the FO's were all former XJT. I would expect as they retire more aircraft guys will continue to jump ship. So far AA has been pretty effective at convincing those guys to jump over to their WO'd carriers. I'm sure Republic is next and that's why they wanted the high first year pay.

No no, you misunderstand me. Your argument was to take the money and run while the place burns itself to the ground. Just want your prediction on how long that will take. Don't make me go back and find those old posts.

I know that there will be no bk now. I always knew if this ta passed that RAH would not file.
My point was to challenge certain people (the burn baby burn crowd ). Challenge them to "take the money and run". IOW, if they hate RAH so much, "take the money and run". Me? I'm a lifer, I've accepted it. My life doesn't revolve around aviation. I make my money elsewhere; this is insurance, stability etc.
If i hated RAH like them, I'd be gone.

Whether or not they restructure has less to do with the new contract and more to do with the willingness of their partners coming to an agreement outside of the BK process.

They're definitely not out of the woods yet.

You're at republic for stability? Now I've heard everything.

What is the logic behind the passed TA saving RAH?
