Southwest doesn't require a 4 year degree either. I know 6 guys off the top of my head who were hired without one. This was over 15 years ago but I believe hiring standards will be loosening up very soon. The 737 type requirement is gone and I predict the 1,000 TPIC requirement will be history soon as well.

While not required, a 4 yr degree is preferred at WN. 15 years ago was a whole different ballgame then now. With thousands of apps on file, they can be picky. Took me 6 years of applying, 2 degrees, and 3 job fairs to get into the hiring pool there now. Hoping for a class date soon so I can put the RAH nightmare behind me for good.
15 years ago was more stringent hiring standards than (two degrees are working wonders for you) today. 6 years of applying is because no one was aggressively hiring until 2 years ago. Welcome to the pool.

I know that there will be no bk now. I always knew if this ta passed that RAH would not file.
My point was to challenge certain people (the burn baby burn crowd ). Challenge them to "take the money and run". IOW, if they hate RAH so much, "take the money and run". Me? I'm a lifer, I've accepted it. My life doesn't revolve around aviation. I make my money elsewhere; this is insurance, stability etc.
If i hated RAH like them, I'd be gone.

Sorry for the thread hijack....

You are correct. 15 years ago really was a whole different ballgame. I was hired at SWA a little over 15 years ago and my resume then would not get me hired today. Having said that the cracks are starting to show. Rocky is pretty open that they are concerned about filling classes in about 4-5 years.

So that rumor about SWA having "a class of 20 and only 10 showed up" is bull kaka? I thought so.

Maybe they went elsewhere? I recall one of my instructors at United said that he had seen a few guys turn down SWA to go to UAL. I'm not sure how true that is, but the notion made my sim partner and I raise an eye brow.
