I haven’t bothered to look to carefully at the pairings, but I wouldn’t be surprised if all the long layovers are somehow 25:59 or just a little under to avoid the rental car clause. Kinda how all long airport sits are 4:59 or less to avoid hotel day rooms. Never underestimate a bean counter.

Good point. We’ll put it this way. Next time we have an aircraft swap in EWR from A to C and a 29 minute MST there will be no more skipping bathroom breaks or passing an opportunity for a quick meal. Of course we’ll never intentionally drop the brake late, but there will be no more bending over backwards for a management team that is and always has been way too willing to take a dump on the crews.

Actually it is 269. It was originally 800 but was reduced down to 269 after negotiation with the scheduling committee.
