It is critical to note that the top 20% of the list is stagnant. Those people do not leave. So all the movement is below them. Most of the people leaving appear to be FOs, most of them probably didn't do any research and discovered too late how bad life at RAH is.

Sounds like he's currently getting one courtesy of RAH, and that he'll owe RAH $4,500 should he decide not to go to work there.
I think if compare the earnings of a RAH pilot over two years to that of a PSA pilot, the PSA pilot will be at least that far ahead, and closer to upgrade besides.

I'll be brutally honest: didn't do any prior 121 research....they were calling continuously, and I finally bit to fly up for an interview. Cash flow won't be an issue(but still stings a little knowing the difference from previous job); I've spent a few years saving heavily. The 175(plus the 190 type) looks to be an incredible plane...I know it's a cheesy reason but hey. No training contract. Bonus. Ability to live wherever I like and commute to work was a BIG one.
I knew the regionals would suck, so I figured stop pouting and just get on with one. I know RAH is very short staffed, so I figured the possibility of advancing in seniority might be a possibility as people are starting to get hired on by the majors. They also are paying for ATP-CTP and ATP written.

Nothing wrong with giving a guy fair warning about the bear trap he's about to step into. Not everyone manages to escape the evil clutches of RAH unscathed.

Loon that is not quite accurate. We are upgrading '08 hires at the moment. I do not have exact numbers in front of me but there are not very many '08 hires on the list and virtually nobody was hired from June(ish) 08 to mid 11. Upgrade times will drop.
With that said I would not come to RAH as a new hire. In order to upgrade you need to have roughly half of the seniority list behind you. We are having an extremely hard time hiring pilots right now (for good reason). This means that it will be a long road to get from the bottom to halfway up the list. Personally, I recommend going to a smaller airline that has flow agreements. The flow may not get you into class but it may help get senior people out of the left seat and thus out of your way.

Beretta, how would you commute from MIA to Central Florida without the ability to list on Jetnet?
NOT A SINGLE RAH EMPLOYEE CAN CHECK LOADS OR LIST THEMSELVES OR FAMILY ON THEIR OWN AA CODESHARE FLIGHT!
As a RAH employee, you are not worthy of access to Jetnet. You are a second class citizen.
I also think they will be taking away other bases' USair flight benefits later this year. Our memo's keep saying "at this time......"
My guess is you won't listen to any of us anyway.

If you work there and are fed up enough to try your hardest to keep someone from signing up despite the additional seniority you get from their lowly number........
